KABUL, Afghanistan — A gunman wearing an Afghan border police uniform killed six American service members during a training exercise Monday in the east of the country, U.S. military officials told NBC News.

The assailant was killed in the shootout.

It's not clear whether the shooter was an actual border police officer or an imposter. An investigation is under way.

War is truly hell, they can't tell who is friend or foe. Sure wish we would just let them tend to there own part of the world and bring our boys home.

The price were paying for that pipeline and there other natural resources is just too high.

I first supported this war in Afghanistan but now Im not so sure. If we do leave then what? Do you think we will ever leave?

The thing is , that the war out there has never really been about terror cells. Everyone knows you cannot fight a cell based enemy with a full scale army assault, wether supported from the air or not.
What is required to win that kind of fight, is a fully funded, and absolutely silent, invisible secret service division, cleared to perform specificaly targeted kills, with small arms, and weapons of limited power and effect. Sending tanks, bunker busting air raids, and the machinery of a costly and obvious army will just drive them from one area to another. However, if small , hard to track teams of professional killers, were to be inserted and left to thier own devices, the problem people would be removed quicker, without the need for occupation, bases, and crucialy without the need to present a target to the enemy. This is how this war should ALWAYS have been fought, if the motives for the war are in fact as stated when it begun.
But no.. it was never going to be that way, because this war is just as much about mineral wealth, and getting in western contractors to do the work to mine it, as much as anything else. Its just as much about securing poppy feilds, and ensuring that the vast majority of illegal narcotics remain the property of black budget CIA opperatives/arms. The training of the Afghan army and police forces is merely a pleasant facade , put on this situation by a US government that despite a leadership change, wouldnt know a good moral choice from a picture of Adolf Hitler , even if shown the two side by side, and given hints. Really heavy hints.

US has failed.

I will keep repeating one point:

- Are these lives worth it? How many lives are worth it? I'm not even mentioning the Afghan lives lost.

How much more money will the US allow its corrupt government to use in an unjustified, + meaningless war.

WAKE UP!!!
