I was thinking today about all the intrusive watching our government does on its people to make sure were all "safe" and "secure" and following the law.

Then I was thinking of how the government was initially intended to be a service of the people. They work for us and we elect them.

The I started wondering WHY the people of this country don't have the same intrusive watching abilities the government has so we can make sure THEY are "safe' and "secure" and following the law?

All their offices and facilities and complexes are property of the government which is appointed by the people and ultimately property of the people..so why then could they not have a CCTV like camera in all their state/federal appointed offices and broadcasted to a "government watch" channel that people could tune into at any time and see and hear exactly what the government is doing in the name of the people of this country?

This would be a very good idea if you wanted a country of people that could actually hold their government accountable for their actions. Hell I say put CCTV cameras in every possible government/state ran facility possible all with the citizens ability to see what is really going on behind those close doors.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be a fly on the wall in the Oval Office.

Then I wonder why we the people who are supposed to be running this country and electing our leaders, don't have that ability to hold them accountable on ANY level.

So what do you all say? How about for every law/regulation the government enacts upon its citizens, the citizens have the ability to enact the same laws/regulations on its government.

At the very least the people of this country should have the ability to hold its government accountable and the only way to do that is to be able to watch what they are doing at all times.

Also I don't think the practice of secrets in the name of national security is ultimately NOT a good idea. It just leads to a very miss lead and confused population of people who are ultimately voting in complete ignorance of reality.

I like it.

Of course, since the government has a monopoly on the use of force and is the final arbitrator of all disputes, it will never happen.

The government will never voluntarily allow itself to be placed under the same scrutiny it engages in. It necessarily can not, for if it did, people might come to see the government for what it really is, a gang of thieves.

Well I know its not possible I'm already clued into the corrupternment, however it should be a huge red flag for those still thinking the government is good and protecting them and all that jazz....

The fact you can't watch your government and you know they keep secrets should be grounds enough alone to realize they are lying to you and doing naughty things. Its the same premise/logic police officers use when you try to say you don't want you car searched, if you don't want it searched you are probably hiding something? People have the right to privacy, governments do not, or should not.

Let's repeal all laws except for the ten commandments and re-vote on the other ones that are actually needed.
