No idea, I'm pretty sure it's also to alert military personnel along with the fire department calls.

I am calm, I just don't ever recall not seeing the fire department roll out after the siren goes off. I'm not thinking that N. Korea is gonna attack PA, just that the crap load of military here is being alerted.

I hear the siren go off several times a week, followed by the fire department rolling out.

ALERT: US strongly condemns North Korean attack and asks for ceasefire, also goes on to say they stand firm by their aid to South Korea!
