The Irish people are as free as any of us.

And those in Northern Ireland freely choose to remain within the UK.
The minority who wish to be Irish can freely choose to go live in The Republic as they have dual nationality.
That they choose not to and freely continue to live in Ulster as the equals of anyone speaks volumes.

So please don't try to justify the actions of the IRA as a fight for freedom because it simply isn't true.
Call it what it was; murder, exploitation and racketeering.

Of course Northern Ireland isn't perfect.
But it is moving forward and that is something that it hasn't done for far too long and a return to The Troubles is in no-one's interests.

I know people who have suffered at the hands of the para-militaries from both sides and The British Army.
I also know plenty who served there.
Nearly all have heart rendering and /or terrifying tales of some sort.

I can't believe the naivety of some of the posts on here. Seriously, "Thank god for the IRA"? I live in the UK, born in a catholic community which sadly these cretins claim to represent. The US government for years were known to be one of their biggest sponsors. They have killed thousands of innocent civilians in Ireland and Britain. I've seen many young minds corrupted by the IRA, persuading that "we" are a persecuted race. Perhaps in Britain and Ireland this was, but is no longer the case. Trust the IRA to skip straight to violence because they don't have the intellect to attempt peaceful measures.

We all know the US government are the real terrorists, that's why people are becoming disillusioned with them. Don't beg for more terrorism, because the IRA don't care who they hurt, as long as someone is watching.

I agree something has to be done the banking situation, and the corporate takeover of society. But let's not jump on the bandwagon for fighting crooks with more crooks.

None of you know the IRA, none of you know anyone involved, and a lot of you think the "Real" IRA (Which are not the REAL IRA) are the IRA. They are not affiliated in any way, in fact the RIRA have been compromised a long time ago by Mi5 agents.

This is not news either, this was announced like, nearly a year ago.

At a point in time the IRA where looked upon as the good guys, now their dissidents and splinter groups do damage and yet the IRA still gets bad PR for it. The IRA has not existed in so many decades.

Get your facts straight before you call the IRA terrorists.

There is a difference between the IRA, the Provo's, the PIRA, the CIRA, the RIRA, the INLA, ONH etc.

Get your facts straight and stop being sheep, the very thing your all against is ignorant sheep, then get your bloody facts straight. None of you were even born more than likely when the IRA defended Ireland against the British murdering scum.

EDIT: FYI: The IRA are liked in Ireland, BUT the RIRA are not!
Also, what happens when Russians start to take over Ireland? Scumbags like the RIRA blow things up to show how tough they are....all this is not for your pleasure. RIRA are trying to scare the Russian Mafia off. So much going on in Ireland that NONE OF YOU know about.

Dunno, but this movie, with a sequel, this year funnily enough:.,, definitely has something to do with it....on mind of course.
www.youtube.com...

Fuunyy, just got auto logged out of email.... O/K..... Never log in unless necessary either. Like now.

Here is my story:
I could not live on benefit after leavin' college in Au for an Arts degree; needed a job.

So....Got a sales job and soon discovoered I had to be counterintuitive to get sales. I was paid 40 A.U.D. for each sale. But... the best benefit was meeting people from around the world.

One in particular was an Irishman who was ugly as, but kept getting the best looking women on the sales team.

He only told me about the IRA that some telephone boxes are green and then, over the border, red.

He said nothing against them nor supported them in any way. This occurred many years ago. Maybe, 14.

Wow, where'd you get that then?

Never seen that before.

Funny, words do have power in intonation, meaning, and other words that may mean 'reap it'.

Good post, if all a bit one sided, I too could get a list of people killed by the IRA, but where would that get us, that would be an example of the Tit for Tat nature of the whole Northern Ireland issue? Your post did show though, that all sides of this conflict, whether it be the British Armed Forces, Loyalist or Republican paramilitaries, have the blood of the innocent on their hands, I am ashamed of a great deal of the things that have been done in the name of Britain in Ireland, but the difference is, most of us now, want to move on in peace, we want learn from the atrocities committed so our children don't grow up hating each other. We have, for a while lived in a relative if albeit very shaky peace, and this is hindered by the few morons who carry on the violence, and the incorrect teaching of history surrounding the conflict, on all sides. The Real IRA don't want peace, In my opinion, they don't want to move on, they don't want to be part of the healing process, they are nothing but gangsters and are not an oppressed minority, they are power hungry criminals who are trying to curry favour by now attaching themselves to the anti capitalist movement.

Peace :-)

Well said.

But...

As I stated before, there is nothing one can get from true intention, only what you get... and thereby capitilise on. If needed.

Here here, suggest those who applaud these threats Google and learn what the Real IRA are about, the maiming and killing of children and innocents means nothing to them.

I don't condone the killing of children but the evil done by the RIRA is microscopic by comparison to what the UK government has done. Their child and innocents death tally is second only to the US govt and i include the khmer rouge, the nazis, and all other diabolical tyrannical governments in the history of the world in my calculations.

However, sadly i fear this is just posturing by the RIRA to ensure they get their slice of the pie that the banksters seem intent on keeping to themselves.

You don't solve things like this through violence. It hasn't worked before and it won't work now, only more problems will arise from it.

I beg to differ. Do you really think all the progress made in ireland in the 20th and 21st century would have occurred without the violence of the IRA? I can't see how anyone other than an idiot could think otherwise. And it is only because of the troubles that the Irish both north and south have got to a place where they believe the violence has pushed the agenda along to a point where violence is no longer productive or what either side wants.

You say you don't solve things through violence. Once again I beg to differ. History is littered with situations resolved through violence. Indeed violence amongst themselves is the only universal facet of animal life on Earth.

PS to nobody in particular:

1. Even though it is untrue I wish someone would convince the US govt that violence solves nothing.

2. Anyone working for a bank is not innocent. After all, it only takes one good man to do nothing....... and I used to be a banker until I saw the light.

When you consider the misery that bankers have inflicted on other people from all walks of life I wouldn't consider it terrorism at all if the real IRA wanted to blow them up.

It's more like a kind of ironic karmic anti-terrorism.

Hell, I might even think about joining them myself and I'm English!

Anyway, they are right - ALL of the problems that we're suffering now have come from the greed of bankers AND politicians.

What kind of support do you think they'd have if they started doing this?

The sectarian problems of the past always are for one group of the public and against the other. In this case I think they'd be representing everyone against a corrupt and evil regime.

I've always had a sympathetic attitude toward the IRA. Ever since I was a child, I heard about them and the things they've done and I always thought, "What did you expect?" They are true Irish nationalists who love their country. I am half English and have a little bit of Irish from both sides, and I still sympathize more with the Irish.

I think they are as good a group as any to begin this War On Banks.

When the IRA started to close down central London and the financial areas. Then we had a peace talk with them and the war ended. It was them attacking the financial part of the UK which caused the peace. Up until then they had been blowing up and killing people. Which didnt work....
So the real IRA are going to attack the banksters? More power to them is all I can say. Will the real IRA be getting their funds from America? As did the IRA.who were paid and financed by the USA.Who would have thought of it? the terrorists fighting for the common man.

True terrorists..these people arn't stupid...they know the game and they know how to play it..The Irish have been screwed by the English for so long...now they have a real cause and as the situation in Ireland deteriorates financially ..targeting the financial organisations/people will be a recruitment drive..as life gets harder for the average Irish....It will be monopolised by the terrorist factions.

The one thing I have learned ..the Irish don't forget...they have a history of being screwed...and when they realise it...there is hell to pay!!

Its wrong ..very wrong ...but anyone doing a bit of research on the history of Ireland will find they are a people not to be buggered about with!!

IMHO....they way things are going ...the Islamists fundamentals have a lot of competition.

The Irish have always had problems and desperation....now again things are desperate...and desperate situations demand desperate measures...and there are many in Ireland that are desperate at this time!!
