Stumbled across these pictures from the ISS.

Just imagine the amount of energy being consumed in these pictures.

I wonder if this is the type of picture we might one day see when commencing a fly-by a habited planet ?

Hopefully in my life time, fingers crossed

''Aurora Borealis in the distance on this beautiful night over Europe. The Strait of Dover is clear as is Paris, the City of Lights, though there is a little fog over the western part of England and London''

Stark contrast: The dark desolate lifeless desert of northern Africa and the Nile River teeming with life along its shores, and the Mediterranean beyond''

''Looks like there's a party going on: The Mediterranean Riviera, along the coastline from Valencia, Spain, to Livorno, Italy, and the Balearic Islands''

''Clear outline: The Florida peninsula and the southeastern U.S. on a clear autumn night, with moonlight over the water and the haze of the inner atmosphere visible''

''The ancient gateway city of Istanbul, in Turkey is the only city in the world to span two continents, linking the Black Sea to the north and the Sea of Marmara to the south''

Pictures and quotes from Dailymail

EDIT: Please visit link to see full size pictures. This is my first time uploading pictures, the ones I have have been cut short. Any one able to pm me a way around this ?

Thanks for posting these pictures............ I for one always look in awe at images like these because they really illustrate our feeble and precarious position in this Solar system and Galaxy......

We take everything we have, food, water, the air we breathe, the power we consume without really a second thought yet we live in a constant state of danger to that balance.....

Pictures like these illustrate our exsitence and should be thought provoking to all...
