While convalescing with pneumonia this morning, I stumbled onto the most beautiful and soul stirring video I have seen in a long time. So the Christmas season is over rated huh? You may change your mind after witnessing the dreaded Christmas shopping hustle and bustle and the Philadelphia Opera.

Please watch!
Thanks,
Pax

Good Lord! Give me a break!!! It's Handel's Messiah for gosh sake! " Some church music" UH??? no, only one of the most famous pieces ever written.

Now why would you go label 600 people in a mall shopping all Christian?? So you are not even able to see the diversity of the group, because you are so against Christianity?

Thanks for your opinion.

Don't get me wrong... nice performance, beautiful music (not exactly my taste, but I get the idea).
The acoustics in a large hall like Macy's must be very impressing.
Act of Culture? Sure.
But "random"??
A staged event, perfomed by the Opera Company of Philadelphia including 650 choristers from 28 participating organizations ... is not random at all.

Didn't see any spirits moving, sorry

That was cool! Did you see Pink in there? She's at about 42 seconds and then again at around 2 minutes. Looks like FUN! I wish someone would do that here.

I know, I saw her!! I would love to be in something like that! How awesome to experience the randomness of something universal with that many!!! Totally would dig it!

Wow! I think this is a first for us, we actually agree on something AND with the same amount of passion!!

There's a first time for everything!
And as far as I'm concerned, this is a great thing about ATS. We can vehemently disagree on one thing, but come together on another.

Great thread!

Very cool video, and I think it's really nice the way that people without buttons (non-opera members, I presume) join in as the song carries forward. I know that I would have!
