Saw a link on GLP stating that there were riots happening in downtown Oakland. Here is the link (it's to a police scanner):

www.radioreference.com...

www.radioreference.com...

And here is the headline:

Monitoring the OAKLAND RIOT CONTROL at downtown Oakland. Dispersing very very crowds. Broadway + 14th ST shut down. Reports of OPD Officer down on 6th AVE. Stabbings reported on E 32ND (9:43 CDT)

Also, THIS ARTICLE written today states that there are fears of riots:

There are fears of violent protests over a controversial court sentencing over a lethal police shooting from two years ago.

Does anyone have any additional information about this?

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets Friday, some breaking windows and knocking down fences, after a white former transit officer was given the minimum possible prison sentence of two years for fatally shooting an unarmed black man on a California train platform.

I can see why there might be people rioting and just generally being pissed off due to the results of the trial.
Just saying......
I was unaware of this. Haven't turned on the news for a few days.

I have actually found an article from the inside bay area website

.

Police have arrested at least 100 people for unlawful assembly, though some could face other charges for throwing rocks, and other crimes

Link HERE

btw there doesn't seem to be much reporting on this story

Great find! Thanks!

I wonder if any youtube videos will surface, much like what happened during the G20 riots of a while back.

I believe it's going to be small if it does happen. I can get some articles from my friends who are socialist.

Is this story breaking news or is it just being pushed into a corner and forgotten about

A friend on Failbook (no pun needed) wrote this comment about a few minutes ago.

The sentence Mehserle received is not only a slap in the face to his family, but to all the people of color who time and time again have been and continue to be brutalized by racist killer cops. The fight for an end to police brutality and justice for Oscar Grant will continue!

She's a socialist so you can see where she's coming from.

So very true, but watching the vid, it does seem that a load of troublemakers just needed an excuse to kick off.

Probably the same folks as last time.

According to this video, the riot here shown, only 25% were area residents. Hmmm, guess who the remainder was?

Who were the remainder? I never seen the last riot. So I wouldn't know who your referring to.
Wait! The New Black Panthers. If I'm correct give me an internet cookie.

According to the maker of the video they were socialist agitators. Only according to the video. It would not be the first time agitators used something that had nothing to do with their cause to agitate.

Not saying it is true or not, but I am glad I left California two years ago. It was bad back then, I can only imagine what it is like when the unemployment there is skyrocketing.

The humerous part of the whole thing is that the unions in the government are the ones stripping that state to the bone. Not to mention the rampant unrestricted immigration problem. Oh well, it will only get worse.

Best be prepared, plan for the worst, hope for the best.
