How much did this article cheer me up on a saturday afternoon! I forget at times that most of my freedom of choice has been taken away from me, and it is good to be reminded every now and then that the bloodsucking corporations will soon have a hold on everything, so not only will I have to pay them for the basic neccesities of life; Food, Water, Warmth & Shelter, but they will charge an exponential amount of money to do so!!!

It really makes me feel happy to be alive in this world of free, competitive trade, capitalism and globalisation. Who would want to live in the renaissance, the wild west or any other time when life weas simple? It would be too hard and taxing to make your own choices, so it really is a good thing that we have this group of disgusting, cancer spreading low life elite class to make these choices for us.

Source

The American revolutionaries gave their lives for a future in which each man would have the freedom to make his own choices. That dream has come true in the form of supermarket aisles that contain 50 different cereals with the word "oat" in their name, five marshmallow based cereals with a monster theme and 12 different varieties of Cheerios alone.

What would you say if I told you that dream was a lie? That all these brands you think you're picking and choosing between are all sock puppets on the many tentacles of a few, lesser known companies?

I don't know what you would say, but we're about to find out.

Luxottica Makes All Your Sunglasses

Remember back when you watched The Matrix for the first time and ran down to the store to buy sunglasses and a trench coat? There were so many sunglass brands to choose from: Oakley, Ray-Ban, Revo, Vogue, DKNY, and if you must have only the best, $500 designer glasses from Prada and BVLGARI (which has that V-instead-of-a-U thing, so you know it's classy like ancient Rome).

The thing is, all of those are made by one manufacturer -- Luxottica.

Menu Foods: The Shadow Behind Your Cat Food

If you are a cat or dog, you will remember the infamous pet food recall of 2007, where thousands of your kind died due to melamine contamination. For a time it seemed like no brand was safe. Word spread through the cat community to turn up their noses at food even more than usual.

How could so many brands (about 150) happen to get contaminated at the same time? Well, because most of them were made by the same company.

When You Eat Corn, You Are Eating Monsanto (TM)

Like an omnipresent starchy deity, corn is everywhere. Savvy consumers know that it doesn't just stop at corn on the cob. Word has gotten out that corn syrup turns up in almost every candy and soda, and is as addictive as crack. But how about Febreze? Hand sanitizers? Ethanol car fuel? That's all corn, too. Making rubber tires? You'll need corn starch. Spark plugs? Corn. Drywall? Corn. You can't build a car or a house without corn.

Whether You're a Mac or a PC, You're Probably a Quanta

Taiwan's Quanta Computer makes 33 percent of all laptops in the world, including Dells, HPs, Sonys, Toshibas and yes, Macs.

In fact, if you're reading this on a laptop, there's a 90 percent chance it was manufactured by one of seven giant companies you've never heard of, all located in Taiwan. None of the brands you know and love actually makes computers. Fortunately, Taiwan is a pretty laid back country where almost nothing ever goes wrong.

Max Martin Has a Monopoly on Annoying Songs

If you've ever complained that all pop music these days sounds alike, you may have a point, considering how many songs were written by the same guy. His name is Max Martin, and you probably hate him without knowing it/

InBev: The Imported Beer Barons

Well, as you've probably guessed, every beer you've ever bought in a store was probably made by the beer empire of InBev, along with Stella Artois, Alexander Keith's, Bass, Beck's, Boddington's, Lowenbrau, Rolling Rock, St. Pauli Girl and Spaten. Those are just the brands they own outright. They also have majority stakes in companies like Grupo Modelo, which makes most of the beers in Mexico -- Corona, Modelo, Pacifico.

People who read this may think, yeah whats the point? I don't even wear sunglasses! But this is just a very small selection, the amount of choice is becoming less and less in the world. Just look around! 8 Billion people and the majority of us all look the same, have the same gadgets, eat the same foods, drive the same cars, listen to the same music, watch the same TV shows and films!

And we all WANT this to fit in with each other! Then we try and trump each other for paying a little extra for a brand name, and its made by the same people!

We are being conditioned, we get all the news from one place, we listen to music by the same man! What effect is this having on our our subconscious and on our perception of reality? They are creating it FOR us.

If this dosn't make you angry enough, please watch the following videos:

Thats right, they are causing cancers and infertility as well as thousands of other things and most of us don't even know it:

Can I just say, please don't just flag this and not post back! Read the linked article (it will take about 10minutes) then read my commentary and then post back if you find it interesting.

This is happening to me a lot later and it is kind of frustrating. It is supposed to be a discussion board, but i always end up talking to myself

Great find! Here are some more to look at while we're at it:

Big Six Media Conglomerates:

www.freepress.net...

Let's not forget the Pilgrim's Society:

www.gnosticliberationfront.com...

And of course, GE!

en.wikipedia.org...

So many more, so little time. One thing is for certain..only a very small few, own and control everything. This is NO CONSPIRACY!

GE is MASSIVE. I had no idea they were that big though.... and I have read about the Rhodes foundation before.... Kind of scary isn't it?

I am sure that the tentacles that join these corporations eventually all lead back to a very few ulimately rich families and groups.
It is plain, at least to me that this corporate entwining has been going on for nearly ever....
We are merely consuming organisms that are used to enrich the few in this world.
Our health, safety, and welfare are of no concern ta all to these bloated aristocrats and corporations.

Yes and what is even more frightening is that these few people can be traced back to Egypt. Maybe even Sumeria. Maybe even beyond that. These people have been herding us throughout our history. Someday I will get back into this more and I will post my proof. No time or mind-set for all that right now. Just know that if you dig, you will find the threads. They are there. I've just moved past all that now.

LIST OF CONGLOMERATES

Look through this list and first take note of the ones you have and havn't heard of.

Then take a sample of both and note to yourself just how many reference JP Morgan, Rockefeller and a few select others. People are always talking of conspiracy and trying to find 'proof'.

Just follow the paper trail and you will have all the proof you need. These guys run the world, not you or even the governments.

Ha, ha. Thanks. It gets to a point where the ball implodes and you realize you can't play the game anymore. I know what's going on, where it came from and the ultimate why. At least I think I do. At times I'm not sure. Faith. A fleeting word yet ever present. And ultimately, the word THEY are tasked to destroy, or paint over as best as possible. To cause confusion, to take away. To empower the great deceiver and 'paint' over the creators true works. Heavy, I know. But it has been where I have been led to, never imagining this is where I would be. To the point of knowing that every single thing we encounter is merely a distraction. So I am burdened with...what now? Ever present...ever fleeting.

every one is just sitting by and letting this happen

Corporate Power Facts and Stats
Author and Page information by Anup Shah

This page: www.globalissues.org...

The following are collected from a report by the Institute for Policy Studies. The report is called Top 200: The Rise of Corporate Global Power. Over time, additonal facts and stats will be added from other sources as well.

1.Of the 100 largest economies in the world, 51 are corporations; only 49 are countries (based on a comparison of corporate sales and country GDPs).

2.The Top 200 corporations' sales are growing at a faster rate than overall global economic activity. Between 1983 and 1999, their combined sales grew from the equivalent of 25.0 percent to 27.5 percent of World GDP.

3.The Top 200 corporations' combined sales are bigger than the combined economies of all countries minus the biggest 10.

4.The Top 200s' combined sales are 18 times the size of the combined annual income of the 1.2 billion people (24 percent of the total world population) living in "severe" poverty.

5.While the sales of the Top 200 are the equivalent of 27.5 percent of world economic activity, they employ only 0.78 percent of the world's workforce.

6.Between 1983 and 1999, the profits of the Top 200 firms grew 362.4 percent, while the number of people they employ grew by only 14.4 percent.

7.A full 5 percent of the Top 200s' combined workforce is employed by Wal-Mart, a company notorious for union-busting and widespread use of part-time workers to avoid paying benefits. The discount retail giant is the top private employer in the world, with 1,140,000 workers, more than twice as many as No. 2, DaimlerChrysler, which employs 466,938.

8.U.S. corporations dominate the Top 200, with 82 slots (41 percent of the total). Japanese firms are second, with only 41 slots.

9.Of the U.S. corporations on the list, 44 did not pay the full standard 35 percent federal corporate tax rate during the period 1996-1998. Seven of the firms actually paid less than zero in federal income taxes in 1998 (because of rebates). These include: Texaco, Chevron, PepsiCo, Enron, Worldcom, McKesson and the world's biggest corporation - General Motors.

10.Between 1983 and 1999, the share of total sales of the Top 200 made up by service sector corporations increased from 33.8 percent to 46.7 percent. Gains were particularly evident in financial services and telecommunications sectors, in which most countries have pursued deregulation.

This next section from the site above sickens me. In South Africa, alternative medicine can be had from the witch doctors or 'sangoma's' who advocate sex with a virgin as a cure for AIDS.

site as above

Pharmaceutical Corporations and AIDS

The AIDS crisis is one example that highlights the motives of some of the larger pharmaceutical corporations. When South Africa wanted to try and produce cheaper drugs to help its own people, by producing more generic and cheaper drugs, these companies actually lobbied the US government to impose sanctions on them!

U.S. Congressional Wartime Commission Targets Armed Contractors
Pratap Chatterjee
June 23rd, 2010

This week, almost a decade after the U.S. "War on Terror" began, the Commission on Wartime Contracting held two days of hearings into the role of private contractors in conducting and supporting war. The Congressional witness table included Aegis, DynCorp and Triple Canopy. Curiously, Blackwater was not called; and the CEO of Torres Advanced Enterprise Solutions failed to appear.

from cepr.org
extracted from introduction to report entitled; Multinational Corporations and Global
Production Networks: The Implicationsfor Trade Policy

The last 15 years have seen an enormous growth of activity by multinational corporations, as
measured by flows of foreign direct investment (FDI). FDI has grown much faster than
either trade or income; whereas world-wide nominal GDP increased at a rate of 7.2% per
year between 1985 and 1997 and world-wide imports at 9.2%, world-wide nominal inflows
of FDI increased at 17.6%1. In 1998 and 1999, the growth of FDI inflows was even stronger,
around 36% per year. These figures comprise the financing of new investments, retained
earnings of affiliates, and cross border mergers and acquisitions. Mergers and acquisitions
are a large proportion of the whole (especially among the advanced countries), with their
value increasing from 52% of total FDI flows in 1987 to 83% in 1999 (UNCTAD, 2000).

In the 1970's us politicised suburban students and drunkards postulated that by the turn of the century, only a handful of multinational corporations would 'own the world' and possibly represent one of the apocalyptic multi-headed beasts of Revelation. If the 51 corporations in the opening source represent 51% of the worlds economic wealth, then the timing is definitely off but it seems we are heading the way we thought. If the 51 corporations represent more than 51% global wealth, then we may have arrived.

It is supposed to be a discussion board, but i always end up talking to myself

LOL

That made me laugh, well at least because it has happened to me many times as well.

I once recieved 10 flags, and zero replies, until a MOD came and gave me an applaud and wondered why no one was commenting.

Sometimes things are just too true, and people just accept it.

If it is not contested and people believe it, no one will question it.

I believe if Capitalism continues, every sector of the world market will be monopolized, hence large companies will continue buying small companies defeating any competition.

In a Capitalistic world, big companies have to buy small companies, that is the only way to increase profits, and small companies have to give up, because big companies will offer them good price, and they can't refuse because 99% of them time, they can't compete.

This is the reality, does it have to change? Yes, because we are heading towards a One World Economy and One World Order. Money is the problem, no one seem to realize it

I agree we are being turned into zombie like slaves to consume useless crap that we need to fulfill are meaningless lives. They target are primitive part of the brain to keep us happy and distracted while we slowly lose everything without knowing it. Everything seems to be something it's not and until we figure out how to break the spell that these corporations have on us nothing will change. There is no doubt in my mind that there are people who have huge control over the masses and the reason nobody really notices them is because they got some puppet spokesman doing the work for them to keep the blame directed at them instead.

LOL man thats good stuff I love how these Yes Men use the same type of language the crooks do who work for the corporations that the people listening can't even tell if he is joking. This is actually one of the most genius ideas I've have seen pulled off. There's one thing to infiltrate and start yelling and get escorted. It's another thing when you can get actual speeches and interviews disguised as them using their hypnotic lingo but with the truth. That will probably have a better effect on people minds and opinions.

Did you watch just the trailer? The full movie is available to be downloaded for free, and it is a special edition which they were not allowed to put to market because they ridiculed the chamber of commerce.

These guys realy did change the lives of a lot of people and are probably working on another project right now. Some of the people in this video are actually sick though, it must be warned

At one point the Yes Men hold a conference posing as high ranking officials from a top life insurance firm, and claim to have a formula which calculates the profit that could be made from using a product even if it exterminates human life.

One guy wants that formula and wants to set up a follow up meeting. This is how they value our lives.

Anyways, I am suprised just how little people have seen this among others. I created a thread about it a while ago to try and spread it a bit, and no one were interested. You will like them I am sure, check them out:
