Internet users to exceed 2 billion by the end of 2010

One third of the world's population will be online by the end of the year, according to United Nations statistics.

The number of people online has doubled to two billion in the last five years, the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) said.

Of the 226m new net users that have come online this year, more than two thirds are from developing countries.

Heh...No wonder the govs and their corporate master elitists are getting worried, and trying to put up all sorts of 'safety measures' to counteract 'problems'.

Looks like this Frankenstein monster just got up off the table and is running amok, out of their control.

Seriously a global network. I won't be surprised (barring that some sort of created calamity isn't instituted) to see half of the entire world population on line within the next few years.
