What kind of alien or animal?

I heard back a year or so ago that there was these aliens or undescribed animals that fly through the air and upper atmospheres of the Earth and are to fast to be seen. There have been a couple caught on camera and the only way I can describe them as long very slim objects. Any one know of what I am talking about?

Just a theory, lets think war of the worlds. How they aliens rode the lightining bolt to the ground and into the machines. What if its possible that aliens use these not as drones but ways to transport themsleves? Or we can stick to them being drones to spy on us. Or they could just be a organic life form we haven't seen or found yet. Just throwing out some senerios.

Well, as bizzare as it may seem, I believe that the rod issue is merely one of camera settings verus speed and movement path of the insect as it passes the camera. In fact , if you use the ATS search, you will be able to find quite a few threads discussing rods, and some pretty solid explanations of how a simple insect can appear to become a rod during normal flight.

Agreed. I have seen a lot of evidence to show that these are merely close flying insects with extremely fast wings that are being captured by a camera with a (relatively) slow shutter speed.

For every frame the insect might flap its wings (say) 50 times, causing the effect you see.

Thats a good way to look at it. I will run through the searches and see more.

You are refering to "rods".

Unfortunately, there are no such things as "Rods", as discussed on ATS & externally at great length & in huge detail.

"Rods" are films of bugs that stretch across several video frames, producing the classic "wavy stick" video & still-frame effects.

I recommend the excellent work of DepthOfField, who explains this effect very well.

Take no offense at all just something I got very interested in about a year ago. Could never find anything on them adn I couldn't recall what they were called so when I stumbled across this site a couple days ago I was having issues trying to find it. Now that I have and found the site with the bug explanation I completely agree with it and see what it really is. Appreciate all the hlep =)

Nobody in their right mind would take offense at a thread posted in earnest by anyone looking for answers! very good theory .. but im still not sure
check the security cam video ...
this thing seem very long .. and its not caused by a video matrix effect

i have saw many insects flying fast on videos .. the view is not the same and far from it
your theory is the best so far on the debunk skeptic side
very plausible to .. but something tell me its not the case
