Marine scientists have conducted an ocean census and have discovered 6,000 new species, as well as some which were thought to be extinct.
They have also found some creatures in decline because of human activities.
Scientists say that the ocean, which provides the planet with half of all our oxygen needs, is full of life in every square foot. And they say there
are many more creatures which have not yet been discovered.
This is amazing - if you want to see some footage, go to TV3 news, New Zealand.
