Ocean Census

Marine scientists have conducted an ocean census and have discovered 6,000 new species, as well as some which were thought to be extinct.

They have also found some creatures in decline because of human activities.

Scientists say that the ocean, which provides the planet with half of all our oxygen needs, is full of life in every square foot. And they say there are many more creatures which have not yet been discovered.

I have to say I am pretty surprised that the bureau was able to conduct their census of the oceans. I know the sharks are pretty bad about mailing things in on time and the octopuses have a hard time filling out the forms. At least I know that us merpeople are accounted for.
