The Desert Rats Live Again !!

Just browsing and I saw this little chap on a video someone has made of their 'pet'..

I have never travelled to Egypt and so have never seen one of these before but
it reminds me of a mini T Rex.

Called a Greater Egyptian jerboa it has a very distinctive look and is kind of cute really, for a rodent....

As someone said, you ain't going to get much meat from a bucket of drumsticks from this chap...

Yeah, I see the mini T-Rex connection. Cute little thing isn't it? At first I thought it didn't have any arms, but I now see that they are kind of hiding amongst the fuhr. Cool vid!

edit to add: Who said the rats ever went away? How could anyone let something so precious die in vain?

My husband had a jerboa as a pet years ago and said that they were very clean with no body odor at all. Because they are adapted to life in a desert, they are extremely efficient in terms of using water and excrete very little.

It wont see us if we stay veryy veryyyy still.

Really cool looking though. I would definitely keep one.

It also looks as though it's front paws / legs are missing but that's how it's evolved..
