It's always interesting to see what can end up in a sinkhole.

Cars, houses and now a restaurant.

Heavy rains in northeast Georgia caused the ground to open up at a Sonic drive thru restaurant.

Three inches of rain fell in an hour, causing a pipe to fail and send water through the cement.

Everyone in the restaurant was able to get out safely.

The sinkhole also buckled the ground at a neighboring car wash.

No injuries were reported.

Think mother nature is tring to tell us somthing?

Yes. Whoever did the civil engineering work needs to be fired right along with the guy who packed the pad under the building.

MOTF!

Well, it was a Sonic! No great loss, other than people will now have to visit some other nasty fast food chain for a while!

Thank goodness it wasn't a school, or a nursery, or a hospital.

Like I said, it was a freaking Sonic! LOL, I think Sonic is EVIL!

Sinkhole maybe.. but its not entirely natural, manmade architecture and structure failure had a big roll to play As it states in your link OP..

Three inches of rain fell in an hour, causing a pipe to fail and send water through the cement.

The question realy is..

"Think some builders didnt do there job properly?"

I Dont mean to sound like im ridiculing, it is quite amazing after all, the ground caved in yet nobody was killed or injured. Perhaps thats why it isnt on TV.. its not depresive. This Article should of been broadcasted and broacasted with the title "Ground Caved In, Miracle That Nobody Was Hurt" . My point is.. Thanks for sharing some Good News friend!

Yes and no. I don't think she tried to tell us anything but rather succeeded telling an engineer that the specifications were insufficient to handle to the capacity of possible water flow. Either that or she simply doesn't like Sonic and car washes.
