I was just reading an article from the Army times that 7 combat brigades remain in Iraq renamed "Advise and Assist Brigades",all ive have been hearing in the news is that what remains are support and logistical support units, the units ive read about are very much combat units. the names have been changed to pacify those who believe the lies from this duoploly of power.
here is the link.

Um. Advising and assisting is a form of "support".
Second line.

Renaming a combat brigade "advise and assist" is
semantics for the sheeple in an election year.
good thing for the election year, those sheeple.

Europe......Korea.... combat units in place; 60 years and counting. They are still there. Not to mention over a hundered and twenty bases worldwide.

But the US military is out of Iraq already?

Yep.

They're really gone. The units there can't support Iraq no matter what you might want people to think.

A few brigades for an entire country. Pretty much a pittance. No matter how you interperet it.

Why?

Ask your congressman or even YOUR president.

They NEED an unstable Iraq so that the oil market stays in flux and the dollar stays unstable.

The sooner the reserve currency fails the sooner the US is useless.

The rest of the wold will cheer and celebrate.

Later they will resent the US dollar for not being there.

Just another day in the life of politics.

Look to the ultimate goal.

Your partizan blindness does you no favors.

I think you miss the point my friend, if i said i was using an ariel released area clearing device for distressed housing reclimation, im still droping a bomb on a house no matter what im calling it, it is still a bomb. A Stryker Combat Brigade renamed Advise and Assist brigade, is still a Combat Brigade, you can call it a stick of butter, it is what it is, a Combat Butter Brigade then. Changing names doesnt change purpose.
p.s. im not commenting on anything other then the change of terminology to placate people and make them believe things that arent true, im not speaking on stratagy or how few brigades are there, thats totaly another subject, just the words, because this matters in how this is being portrayed.

badger lol
just love ur sarcasm

yep, we're outta here
now add back in another 50,000
combat troops who changed their name
and add in another 96,000 security
contractors who don't abide by the
Geneva Convention or any rules of
combat or rules of engagement.

hmmmm

that still leaves 146,000

looks like a political agenda to
cook the books for an election
year.

yep, we're outta here

How is that unlike calling a combat brigade" advise and assist"?
which IS talking down to the sheeple.
While what I said was directed at an equal poster...
unless you feel unequal.

700+ bases in 130+ countries. Just to get the numbers correct.

Dow Jones at this moment-10213.62

Hey, the last I heard we were in a recovery, (remind self, do not watch the propaganda tube) there has been no recovery. The gov's have covered their backside (friends) and things will only continue south. All planned.

As for combat troops being removed, yes and the contractor (mercs) numbers have gone up.

All is fair in love, war, and globalization.

Star for you.

Now exactly how much combat have those "Combat" units seen in Europe and Korea in the past 60 years?

The units designation changing is simply there is not much Combat going with US forces. Most if not all the violence in Iraq for the past 2 and half years has been Sectarian, Muslin Shia vs Muslin Sunni and visa verse.

It makes sense to have hardened combat troops advise green ones. Especially in a region not known for it's peacefulness. Regardless of what conspiratorial nonsense many wish to believe.

too worried about who's gonna get voted off
American Idol and they really don't see the
water rising, til it crashes through their
front door. Then it's too late to get that
flood insurance.

That's exactly right. Now How much combat has gone on in Germany in the past 60 years? With regards to the Balkans that was at the bequest and support of how many EU/NATO countries again? Not to mention the UN?

Flying wounded from Iraq and Afghanistan isn't exactly combat operations in Europe.

Sorry

Well, I can agree with you on that. There is a political agenda.

As for 190+ thousand troops that you are crowing about I don't know.

Wish they'd show up here. More IED's/ attcks/ violence here every day since the actual combat troops left.

Hundreds of civillian casualties every week and a considerable number of out of towners being injured/ killed.

I guess these "combat" units you are so annoyed about aren't actually doing much combat.
