I don't see anything nutty about this at all, I think it's pretty cool actually! It's like barter and trade in the old days, trading with actual commodities. There's a lot of use in Oriental medicine, it goes back thousands of years. A lot of the over-the-counter medications you find in stores today, are nothing more than natural herbs ground up and refined into a pill form.

I know they are not doing well economically, despite the lavish lifestyles of the elites, so this is a generous gesture from the Czech Republic - although it's only for 5% of the debt apparently.

Any feel good aspect to this story runs out pretty quickly because such is the state of North Korea that it can only muster enough materials to barter away five percent of the debt it owes in this case . It would be very difficult to say the least for the next leader of North Korea to move away from the cult of personalty to a kind of fascist regime like the one in China .
