Wild 2 Comet

Topic started on 17-6-2004 @ 03:56 PM by Indy

Apparently this comet is unlike any other ever observed before.

"Among the bizarre features are two depressions with flat floors and nearly vertical walls that resemble giant footprints. They aren't structured like typical impact craters. The features have been named Left Foot and Right Foot in a new map of the comet, which is roughly 3 miles (5 kilometers) wide."

You beat me to the punch on this Indy. I was just researching this and was going to post this as well. Anyway, I think it is very cool that we are able to get within 150 miles of another object moving at such great speeds. Here is a comp[osite picuture of the comet.
