Take a look at THIS map! Now I know this is an active area, but come on! It appears (to me anyways) that there is some major movement going on.

This list of quakes is just since 7/18/10 (only one week). There are NINE quakes of 6.0 mag or more and 4 7.0+ mag quakes!!! 13 of them are over 550 km deep. 5 of them more than 600 km deep.

I'll say it again: Something is gonna give on the opposite side of this.

Could it be connected to the FOX ISLANDS?:

The list for the past week is several hundred long, so here is the LINK instead. You'll notice there were probably a hundred or so a day up until...YUP! the action started in the Phlippines. Now there have only been two yesterday and none so far today.

I've been following along here but not posting. You had me going with that map although it does deserve a "holy cow". I couldn't figure out where it was for at least 10 minutes as my mind was stuck in the south Pacific. Thanks for the mind bender

I just noticed that one. Interesting to see if it picks back up again. For the scientists that say the seismic activity is all independant of each other...blah!!

Man....628 km. That's almost into the next mantle layer. I find it interesting that these quakes seem to be trending deeper. Significant, you think?

I realize that this is near Japan, but look at the MAP of the Japan quake and then a MAP of the cluster in the Philippines. Here is acutally a BETTER MAP showing them all together.

If you follow those fault lines you will see that they connect. Notice the depth of the Japan quake? How often does that happen there? I would speculate that those are related somehow.

Edit to add: Just an interesting note: If you continue along that fault, you ofcourse end up in the Fox Islands, Alaska!
