Local fishermen are fuming that they will have to stop fishing for the tasty catch — which sell for £3 each in posh restaurants — until the outbreak is dealt with.

The no-go zone was put in place this week after inspectors from the Centre for Environment, Fisheries an

Well they are an aphrodisiac is was only a matter of time before some one took the plunge.

In regards to the actual news story I have to say really really random story there is probably some guy out there telling his girlfriend, "I got it from an oyster not from that stripper in Vegas!" Or in reverse some girl saying " no sweetie I didn't cheat on you its... from the oysters"

A herpes-type virus infection, the first to be found in an invertebrate animal, is reported in the oyster Crassostrea virginica. Intranuclear herpes-type viral inclusions were more prevalent in the oyster at elevated water temperatures of 28 degrees to 30 degrees C than at normal ambient temperatures of 18 degrees to 20 degrees C. The inclusions were associated with a lethal disease at the elevated temperatures.

I am assuming it may well be because of the rising temperatures at the moment.

I actually never knew creatures like this in the sea can get such a virus

Even the oysters would steer clear..

Maybe it wasnt an oyster they found... maybe they found Paris's mommy parts and thought it was a oyster.. It was bound to fall off some day.
