Why did I never pursuit this early-on?

A drugstore sits somnolent,
hiding in the ostrich ferns.
That haggard old guy in the window pane,
is the one that makes the pain go away.

I walk up several steps on the right,
I say, "Hi buddy, remember me?"

(Of course he does but he nods off anyway)

My path slices the diagonal,
weaving between the empty shelves,
which lead me to back door.

A woman in a dull-red dress with tiny white
flowers leans out of a back window and yells,

"Hey, Sam!"

"What is it Sandy", I hear, near the panes.

(You just know that something in going on)

I can't stand all the love you try to shove my way.
It's enough that you even care about me.

But if I had a word, it would read like this: alone,
even though it makes me sad to know,
I want what I think I need,
in case you can't read.

Like an anniversary is important to me.
If there was a time,
who knows where it went?
Or ran away?
What's that date?

I lack such humanity

He says.

But why does it matter to me?

He laughs.

I'm afraid I can't help myself despite the need to be complete.

And so it's like this: don't even attempt it.
I hate things that try to touch my soul.
It's mine! Keep your bloody mitts away!

They notice things that sit before their faces,
too blurry to see, or so close they look them over.

Waxing so eloquently in my only presence,
I hear what makes ME so pissed.

Not a word can take it back.

From the little hole through the far,
that reveals the close thing that is ob(l)vious to see,
because it is covered by its own glass.

That's what it is.

So I squint and stare at the empty plot of dirt,
to the edge of the trees,
and fall down the hot, chalky stairs,
and move on and on...

Very nice, EU. I hope you will be sharing more of your writing with us.

Isolation of the Soul. ......... ?

A warning......solitude in misery.

Inconsolable anger. Anger which is dear.

ob(l)vious...............Means, face value?

A really intricate and touching piece of work here EnlightenUp. I thoroughly enjoyed this. It has a way of describing those things that we know are achievable but we choose to ignore. At least that's what I get from it. Thanks for sharing my friend. Really cool.

It's killing her that the anniversary went by without notice but she'll follow Sam's lead. How true is it, I lack such humanity, in the back of the mind when such things occur. I'm afraid we can't help ourselves, despite our need to be complete.

Thank you. I'll scrounge something else up if I like it. I think it originally came from Eli Lilly (or one of those pharma houses).

Hm. Maybe you can sell it to them.

Yes, I think that's quite accurate overall. As to what it refers in particular, that's up to the reader. It had no particular strong intent behind it. In part was based on a dream I had one night, then some other stuff, semi-fugued, almost channeled.

Or is this a testament to why natural cures for depression might be preferrable?

It's obvious that you're ob(li)vious to something, what could it be? It's right there, yet you miss it and you had it all the time.

I see. The 'i' is missing. I'm confused. I really don't understand the reason. If this was intentional, and not a typo, then I don't get it.

Sorry.

Are you going to explain this? Or not.

But the "I" is you, so it's right there, not on the page, but instead above it in a higher dimension.

Sorry.

It could be, or I could be post-rationalizing.

(Oh, darn, it's too occult)

Okay, what?

The "i" is me, so it's in a higher dimension, unlike the page. Or e-page.

I would have never figured it out. Apparently I'm really not very bright.

*Note to anybody who attempts to star this post. I will take that as an agreement that I am not very bright.

Ok, no star for you then.

Every man and woman is a star. Aren't stars pretty bright?

Look at all the stuff around it that distracts you from this simple fact.

I'm afraid I can't help myself despite the need to be complete.

You see, I have no choice but to believe people can help themselves.
People can change.

To not help yourself is a choice. A lazy one. A stubborn one.
At times.........Despair.

Some can change. Some must simply be destroyed as Archangel Michael would destroy a demon or used to build the lower strata as Solomon would use a demon. When that phase is complete, they are discarded. This is what they truely appreciate anyway, knowing they truely are destined to be thrown into the pit.

What is it? Helping one's self? Helping one's self is simply delaying the realization of one's true self. There is nothing to help.

Sorry about that ladyinwaiting. I didn't finish reading your post before I starred it. I am not in agreement that you are not very bright. I believe you are very bright indeed. If I could unstar it I would. Again, sorry about that.

...Or attempting to alter one's true self, in an effort for self-improvement.
Nothing whatsoever wrong in wanting to, and attempting to improve one's self. In fact, it's recommended.

Alter something that is perfect? Isn't that the great fall? The diamond is there, perfect, just covered in muck. We're trying to get back, to take "the great cosmic shower".

Ok, I'm all messed up on cough syrup right now.

No problem. Glad to see you.

What is your take on this "there is nothing to help" idea?
Getting rather philosophical in here.....and we may be headed to a freewill vs. predestination area.
