Fox News personality Glenn Beck believes the Jews murdered the biblical messiah Jesus Christ, and Gosh Darn It, if the Christian savior had been more like Barack Obama he'd have "come back and made the Jews pay for what they did."
That's just the tip of a bizarre rant recently aired by News Corporation, which featured the chalkboard-handy host once again assailing Christian social justice efforts, which many faithful see as core to their sacrament. In the process, however, Beck revealed what one prominent reverend called a fundamental "misunderstanding" of scripture, as well as an apparent detachment from the English language when it comes to the word "victim."

I know I'm going to get flamed for this and called an anti-semite, even though I'm not, and I'm not even supporting Glenn Beck as I think he's a waste of meat but....
If we are to believe the veracity of the Gospel (not that I'm saying I do), then aren't the Jews responsible for Jesus' death? Sure, the Romans physically carried out the execution but it were the Pharisees (Jewish religious leaders) who sought his imprisonment and execution for breaking Jewish, not Roman, law.
I understand the possible ramifications of the church teaching that "the Jews killed Jesus" but I'll never understand the need to call someone an anti-semite because they came to a fairly obvious conclusion based on whats written in the Bible.

Everyone knows the guy doesn't like Barack Obama, so I highly doubt he was siding with the idea of making the Jews pay. It was probably closer to sarcasm. The title of the OP is therefore a bit misleading.
