Good is the name of God, minus one letter, and Evil is the name of the devil, minus one letter

Am I the only idiot who has never worked this out?

It seems that everything was spelled out right from the beginning.

God also spells dog - man's faithful friend.

Devil spells lived backwards - meaning the fallen angel who could have had it all but was thrown into the abyss?

Stand by for ridicule.

Jeez, I never really realized that!

Good find!

I did notice the evil in devil. I always kind of figured it was a contraction of 'the' and 'evil' coming together for devil.

As for good and God... never put that one together, but I have noticed when typing 'good' and I forget an o, lol, that it turns out God. But I have never really put the good/evil dynamic into it. Anyways, this is very good observation.

From one of the billboard advertisement off northbound 880 (near Cisco):

"Why ISLAM?"

ISLAM = MALSI

MAL = bad (in Spanish)

SI = yes (in Spansih)

Therefore ISLAM = bad, yes!

Pretty sure this only occurs in English .

English is full of this sort of thing , sun , son , Amen , Auman , and so on .

There are some that feel the English language has some code imbedded within its make up .

Thanks Solar,

I didn't find it on the net - I found it in my own head, suddenly.

It is obvious really.

That is really interesting.

Maybe words have more power than people ever realized.

I would hesitate to put down all of Islam.

But I would also say that that is where most extremists and terrorists originate, which certainly is all evil.

Kinda rude... yeah, it may only occur in English, but it's still something weird to think about. So please, don't be so rude. I think it is a very cool observation, even if only in English.

So far, I am ignorant and delusional.

I am keeping track of the negatives.

Makes me laugh.

Cool.

God and Devil aren't really the names of anything.
They are mere titles under which many things fall under.

Wordplay is fun, though.

Evil spelled backwards is Live.

Perhaps living is just plain wrong?

I prefer to think that 'live' is positive and 'evil' is negative.

So, while we live, evil is death.

Sure we should live, and be happy doing so.

Wordplay is fascinating, I agree, and I believe there is a lot hidden within wordplay.

Also, how come the names God and devil are really amazing wordplay? If they don't exist?

As others have mentioned, this happens in English only and English is a "new" language derived from a mix of German, Norse and tons of French. When William the Conquerer conquered England in 1066, there was no such thing as English and no written language in England. (Normand) French became the official language and was taught around the country. English is essentially a very simplified version of this French. It was derived by the way people spoke it and contains no codes whatsoever.

Also "Israel" is one place mark away from "Is Real".

Yeah, that may be a stretch.
