WMP 11 MP3 help please

MY Windows Media Player 11 will not play some of the MP3 files i have. Is there something i have to do to them? It plays most MP3 files fine, no problem at all. I cant figure out the problem. I think it was the codec it was compressed with. But i dont know how to fix it. Please help.
