Caribbean/Latin American perspectives on the BP disaster?

I'm interested in hearing what people in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, etc. have to say about the oil issue.

There is a lot of talk from US people in the gulf area, but I really haven't heard much from other areas that are being hit by it. Maps show that Mexico, the Caribbean islands, Central America, and parts of South America are either being impacted now or soon will be.

Is there anyone living in any of those areas who can comment on conditions, local perceptions, etc.? Thanks in advance if so.

I don't know much, but I do know that about 2-weeks ago Cuba was preparing for oil to start appearing on its beaches and coastline.
