The Royal Family have been offered free tests to check whether they have been exposed to cancer-causing radon gas at Balmoral.
I just thought i would put this out there really, conspiracy theorists make anything of this?
Or is this thread simply an eye opener for those living in and around Aberdeenshire.
The highest numbers of homes affected are in Aberdeenshire - followed by the Highlands, Orkney and the Borders? What do you make of this?

Radon gas is a natural product of the ground in many areas of Britain;
My own locality is one of them, as I was advised when I bought this house.
I believe the risk level is low (my solicitor advised me not to bother having a test done, because I would then be obliged to tell a future purchaser about the results)

The Royal Family have been offered free tests to check whether they have been exposed to cancer-causing radon gas at Balmoral.? Cancer causing?
And a risk map shows that the Balmoral estate is in an area where the percentage of homes at or above the action level is between 10 and 30, the second highest category.

Radon is the second-biggest cause of lung cancer, responsible for 1,000-2,000 deaths in the UK annually, compared with about 30,000 deaths from smoking.

low risk? any risk is high risk in my eyes.

Well, if it's bad for them, it's working slowly.
The family has been occupying Balmoral since Victoria's time.
