I know people discuss the Aurora plan a lot. I was curious about the other planes built at area 51. My father mention the U2 was built there.

Looks like a Area 51 plane. Black and mysterious. Makes me want to join the U.S Air force to work at area 51.

No airplanes were built at area 51.

It is a test facility.

The SR-71 was built in of all places,Burbank,Calif. at a plant that shares a runway with the local commercial airport.

Most secret facilities are not hidden away.

There are many that are hiding in plain sight.

Best place to hide a secret lab/facility is where people would not think it would be.

they would build em then fly them via cargo plane to area 51
or sometimes fly them at night time

Area 51 is just used as a test and research base as I have been told on here many many times.

They just build them at Palmdale or Edwards.
Burbank airport has de-commissioned its Skunk Works a long long time ago.....Now, there is just office buildings there next to the main runway....

Airplanes are not built at Area 51. They are built by various manufacturers around the country and transported to Nevada by truck or inside cargo planes and reassembled at the test site.

Airplanes and missiles tested at Area 51 include:

Lockheed U-2 low-speed, high-altitude spy plane
Lockheed A-12 high-speed, high-altitude spy plane
Lockheed YF-12A interceptor based on A-12 design
Lockheed M-21 mothership (based on A-12 design) for D-21 drone
Lockheed D-21 unmanned reconnaissance drone, launched from M-21
Lockheed D-21B, drone redesigned for launch from B-52H
McDonnell Douglas AQUILINE unmanned aerial vehicle
Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-17, a Russian fighter plane (Foreign Materiel Evaluation)
Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-21, a Russian fighter plane (Foreign Materiel Evaluation)
Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-23, a Russian fighter plane (Foreign Materiel Evaluation)
Sukoi Su-22M, a Russian fighter plane (Foreign Materiel Evaluation)
Lockheed HAVE BLUE stealth technology demonstrator
Lockheed SENIOR PROM stealth cruise missile prototype
Lockheed YF-117A SENIOR TREND stealth fighter prototype
Northrop TACIT BLUE stealth technology demonstrator
Northrop AGM-137 Tri-Service Standoff Attack Missile prototype
AeroVironment HALSOL high-altitude solar-powered technology demonstrator
[unknown manufacturer] classified technology demonstrator
[unknown manufacturer] YF-113G classified prototype
McDonnell Douglas/Boeing "Bird of Prey" stealth technology demonstrator
[unknown manufacturer] YF-24 classified technology demonstrator

Obviously, this is not a complete list. There have been other manned and unmanned aircraft flown at Groom Lake that have yet to be revealed. The SR-71 was tested at Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale, California, and at nearby Edwards Air Force Base. I didn't include the "Aurora" because it appears to be nothing more than a myth.
