So, as we all know, this spill is getting WORSE by the second. I have no advanced degree, nor do I have any expertise in petroleum engineering (or any type of engineering). But while really THINKING about a solution to the spill, I fell asleep on Wednesday night and had a dream. Basically, my subconscious worked something out that my conscious mind couldn't.

I immediately wrote my dream down, and then popped on photoshop and tried my best to put everything into pictures. What I got was below:

I emailed the solution to BP on Thursday morning, not expecting to get a reply. Well this morning, I got this:

Mr. "My Full Name",Thank you so much for taking the time to submit your solution regarding the Horizon incident. Your submission has
been reviewed for its technical merits and we are considering plans for possible implementation. We will contact you if any further information is needed. All of us on the Horizon Support Team appreciate your thoughts and efforts.Sincerely yours, Deepwater Horizon Support Team

It came from [email protected]. It may not be the ACTUAL solution but hey, at least I tried. If anyone else has anything to add to this, let's get the great minds of ATS working!

Hope you like it!

It might work if they hadn't already ruptured the riser pipe some 1000 feet below the sea floor. At this point, if they totally plug off the BOP, the oil & gas will vent out the ruptured riser pipe, eroding the sea floor and eventually causing the entire BOP, all 400 tons of it, to collapse into the eroded crater.

IMO, Our best hope rides on the two relief wells being successful at locating the original well bore and sealing it off at great depth.

By the way, I'd be willing to bet that the response you got from BP is their standard response to all submitters. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on any further correspondence regarding the matter.

awesome!!!

i hope it does some good.

i don't know your spiritual beliefs, and they don't really matter to me, but i just want to share something with you - so don't think i'm pushing anything at all - just sharing.

a couple of times i have had questions in my mind and went to sleep on them, as it were...and during the night, i was "educated" on the issues at hand - one being the function and movement of the tectonic plates, especially under the ocean such as at the Atlantic ridge.

now, when i got that particular education, it was several years ago, before that kind of information was, i guess, confirmed to the point where it was accessible knowledge to the everyday joe.

later, when it started being discussed and shared in the general public arena, everything i had been taught was confirmed as true.

and still, there are things i was given that haven't yet made it out to the masses - one thing that i was told i only got confirmation about in this last week!

i say it is angels that teach me - i have had OOBE and always there is a companion on my right side that i know must be an angel for many reasons.

anyway, the reason i shared that is because i think information received in dreams, or in sleep, is excellent and reliable information and i don't see why the same doesn't apply to yours!

just the desire to want to help or even to know and understand in order to make the world a more-informed, less fear-ridden place, seems to be an open invitation to unseen tutors.

i know it wasn't me because i had no inkling of many of the things i was taught.

and you say you are not an engineer - but your diagrams are impressive!
and it seems that isn't just to me, another non-engineer!
i hope the people that replied to you are sincere and i hope that they at least try it if it has any possible chance at all.

after all, it can't hurt!

thank you so much for caring so much and thinking so hard!
GOD (love) BLESS YOU

obviously not, though, since Gentill Abdulla also sent an idea, also posted for us here at ATS, but has not yet received a reply.

others have sent ideas, too, thousands of others...i haven't heard of anyone else getting an actual reply.

it doesn't sound like a canned reply, either - a thank you for your idea yada yada yada - it said

it would be foolish to send that kind of reply as an automatic response because the followup inquiries would be a nightmare proliferation!

i think it is promising in that it also shows that someone is actually reading all the submissions!

Thank you so much for the responses. Again, I have no engineering background, just a simple guy who thinks about solutions. I did, however, read this, an article off CNN written today at 4:46 CST:

BP has 44,000 barrels of mud ready to inject into the Macondo well in an attempt to end what President Barack Obama has called the nation's worst environmental disaster.

www.cnn.com...

I truly hope they take even 1 percent of my idea and it clicks with an engineer or someone at BP. Not holding my breath but I tried.....

It depends on how he sent it.

I called them first. Which they then sent me this automatically.

Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate your concern and willingness to help. Please complete the form located at www.horizonedocs.com... with as much detail as possible. This will allow us to quickly and accurately collect your information so that we can forward it to the appropriate technical reviewer. Once your information has been analyzed, we will contact you with the result of the review. Please note we are receiving thousands of potential solutions from the public and it may take some time for us to get back with you. We are currently implementing multiple tactics to both control the source of the leak and the resulting spill. Once you fill in this form, you do not need to contact us again. Thank you!

I did it through their call center and his has
ALREADY BEEN reviewed.

Not to mention that his was sent EARLIER .

This is not meant to be rude it is just to prove a point to those who can't read.
(Sorry if that hurt you Queenannie38)

I just went online and emailed everything along with a brief explanation. I never got a response besides the one today. Haven't spoken with anyone either, it was just this email. Hopefully it wasn't a "canned" response, I really hope something there clicked with the guys in charge. I care DEEPLY about a solution and will continue thinking of possible solutions until it stops. People getting sick, animals dying, it just hurts my heart. I wish I could do more.

So do I.

Did you hear my solution?

Mine is the use of soundwaves to separate the oil from water by density.

It pounds the oil and water with the soundwave filter then any oil will flow to the center.

This is not only an oil collector but a sufficient cap because it can be placed on the spill and with a pump it can funnel it back up to an oil collection bay.

The solution is, and has always been, an underground explosion about 3k feet down.
Next to the original pipe, enough c4 and thermite to vaporize a hole with a radius of 300ft. Back the drill back up and keep it at 2.5k ft , blow the first charge and then retract the drill and send down one to collapse roof of the hole.
Reason not done? They want to revive this sucker if they can get it under control.
Sick, greedy techno bumkins.

When did you send this? It's a great idea, they haven't responded yet?
I would like to think that TPTB wouldn't suppress good ideas for personal gain, but who knows.

Thanks man, and I am only an amature geologist. WTF. I could kick Obama's butt for not insisting on a solution somewhat like this. Take those candy store BP specialists out of there and show them what we in America know how to do best. Blow # up. That technology, we certainly have.
