These Presidents might seem decades apart and most likely they never met. I just can't stop thinking President Obama is the democratic answer to President Reagan.
Many of the users on here know President Obama is being criticized for his economic polices by the conservative movements. The same can be said by many democrats in the past who hated Reaganomics. He is a highly charismatic and is a great communicator. President Obama can make a great speech. The same with Ronald Reagan while he was in office. Both of them even have wonderful smiles.
Maybe some of you see the same coin both politicians are on. Ones on the left and the other is on the right.

Just because Obama can make and deliver a speech doesn't make him like Reagan. The difference is that nobody, even Democrats, believe Obama anymore. Reagan always had the masses behind him, just look at the differences in their popularity ratings.

Reagan was an excellent communicator with or "without" a teleprompter.

Obama seems to make an ass out of himself without his teleprompter.

Obama couldn't even hold Reagan's jockstrap. Carter was sending this country down the abyss, and Reagan turned it around and created one of the biggest economic booms in world history. He also created the massive war machine that all his successors get to play around with.

When Reagan spoke on the world stage, friends and foes listened intently. He meant what he said and his interest was in the U.S. and not selling us out to the lowest bidder. One of the few presidents who could make other world leaders shake in their boots. He was considered a war monger by his stance on defense yet was a major proponent of peace. He bluffed the Soviets with SDI leading to its collapse several years later.

Our trade deficit with China on Reagan's watch reached a height of SIX MILLION a year. With Bush/Obama, its almost 300 BILLION a year.

Liberals whine about Reagan's deficits that were used to counter the Soviets? Obama put that eight year debt to shame in his first year and still has NOTHING to show for it. Take away the Soviet threat and the money used to counter it, every year during Reagan's two terms we would have been running surpluses.

Every penny spent on Reagan's watch led to something substantial. Obama flushes trillion dollar checks down the toilet with nothing to show for it.

Reagan was willing to risk World War III to get those hostages out of Iran if they were still there when he was inaugurated. Obama was gonna let the hostages in North Korea rot until Bill Clinton went over there and begged for their release. We currently have hostages in Iran right now and Obama doesn't even mention them.

This thread's existence is an insult to the legacy of Ronald Reagan.
