news.yahoo.com...

UNITED NATIONS – At least 245 million women around the world have been widowed and more than 115 million of them live in devastating poverty, according to a new study launched Tuesday night by Cherie Blair, wife of the former British prime minister.

This is a really scary report to read. What can we do to fix this terrible problem?

While the answer might seem cold, isn't it about time we stop trying to meddle in the affairs of other countries? Why don't we focus our attention towards issues within our own countries before we try to fix the problems of other countries? Hasn't history suggested that interfering in the affairs of foreign nations, no matter how noble the cause, is not a good idea and is likely to result in negative repercussions?

well, I know of a few 80 something year olds in this country that are only one job away from proverty...so, well...
what can I say...
sooner or later they are gonna be too old to run that sewing machine, and then they will be part of those stats also!

I imagine, it's "poor planning" on their parts???
