House Dems prepare alternative to budget that would avoid deficit vote

House Democrats are readying an alternative budget measure that would set next year’s spending levels without requiring a vote on deficits.

House Budget Committee Chairman John Spratt (D-S.C.) said the alternative would be the “functional equivalent” of a full-fledged budget. But because it won't be a traditional budget resolution, it will be silent on future deficits, which are expected to average nearly $1 trillion for the next decade.

I find this rather sad. We can't really trust any of these liars in Washington DC right now. Remember all of the talk about how Bush's budget was unsustainable, and, that the economy would be in bad shape if we didn't do something about it? Now all the Democrats seem to be backing off on their promises of fiscal responsibility. They all claimed to be for fiscal responsibility. Even Nancy Pelosi said that she was for fiscal responsibility (www.speaker.gov...).

It looks like we can't trust anything these people say. We can't trust the Democrats or the Republicans. The so-called fiscally responsible Democrats won't even vote on a budget deficit! Isn't this a little ridiculous? No?
