Jack McConnell, the first minister of scotland was at the center of a major security alert when a man was spotted outside his 'official' residence' carrying something which looked like a home made bomb.

The first minister's neighbours spotted the 39-year-old, who was wearing combat fatigues, acting strangely near Bute House in Edinburgh on Tuesday.
The suspect was taken to a police station where he was assessed and sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
It was later found that he was carrying nothing harmful

You think that after all this time and after the 'attack' on Tony Blair in the House of Commons they would have better security outside the official residences of people in goverment.
Also..kinda shows that he has nosey neighbours!

Mental Health Act? Sounds ominous. Wel, we have our own Acts, such as the Patriot Act.
