Of the $54 million to the Mohegan tribe, $31.5 million will be used to construct an educational center and $22.2 million to build a community
center, according to the Agriculture Department...
...The building will house the tribe's library, archives, tribal court, health and human services, Bunnell said.
"It has nothing to do with the casino," he said...
...Bunnell said more than 100 construction workers, mostly union carpenters, plumbers, sheet metal workers and others, were laid off when the tribe
stopped constructions in early 2009, after nearly two years.

This is outrageous, though not entirely unexpected. $54 million dollars to put 100 workers back to work, temporarily. They could have split the $54M
between 200 workers, instead of only 100, which would have given the 200 people around $270,000 dollars each. Instead, 100 people will have a
temporary job, making about $45,000 each on average. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that this is not helpful.
What is with the government handing our hard-earned money over to corporate interests and the American people not putting a stop to it? We have the
power to stop this non-sense, yet we do nothing. This kind of thing is only going to continue until we put our foot down.
