Time for world to confront Israel: Gilad Atzmon

arabnews.com

According to the famous Israeli-born Jazz musician, Gilad Atzmon, "The ideology that carried out execution-style killings on the Gaza aid flotilla the 'Mavi Marmara' is the same ideology that carried out the massacres at Deir Yassin, Qibya, Sabra and Shatilla, Qana, Gaza, Jenin and the murder of Rachel Corrie — more than that it is the same ideology that killed Christ."

He continues: "there is no biological, racial or ethnic continuum between the ancient Israelites and the contemporary Israelis. The attack on the aid convoy is a continuum of the same ideology that killed Christ. Chri

A controversial piece that is sure to find resonance on both sides of the argument.

No doubt some will find this to be instructive and a real condemnation of Israels zionist regime by someone who cannot possibly be called an anti-semite, whilst others will no doubt accuse him of seeking publicity.

I have been familiar with Gilad Atzmon for some time, and this piece certainly bears all the hallmarks of his no-nonsense approcah to criticising his former country.

In my opinion, he speaks from the heart about what he see's as the betrayal of his religion and "people" by the global zionist agenda and zionist regime in Israel.

He speaks from personal experience with remarkable candour, and the piece is very moving in some of its aspects while also being brutally honest.

I applaud this man for speaking publicly what many are thinking, including many Jews living in countries other than Israel.

I also applaud his bravery in tackling this subject, and hope that he doesn't receive a call from any of his former countrymen - it's not like they don't silence vocal critics after all...

It's very propaganda-ish.

The world?

No I don't think so.

I don't have a horse in this race, It's not my country(s).

You all can confront them.

I am going to mind my own business and let them be in peace.

Enjoy the hornets nest you are about to stir up.

I won't have any pity for these people.

Why does everyone want more "confrontations" and more "conflict"??

So disappointing.

IMHO
because zionist aipac controls so much of other governments
and because so much money flows to Israel.
and because so many have died serving Israels foreign policy agenda
we are all involved

No doubt about the fact that this has been going on a long time, and the more powerfull the zionist Israel government becomes, the more militant it becomes.

At the end of the day, it boils down to the "root of all evil" - money.

Israel is a bully among nations, a liar and a cheat. Every time it gets away with one of these crimes, the body of international law that ensures peace between nations is assaulted. It is the moral duty of all nations to ensure peace on Earth, not to hide their heads in the sand and say 'It's not my problem! It could never happen here!'

Confrontation is always better than ignorance. It is cathartic; if the world community of nations does not stand up to rogue nations, then they will commit atrocities for all time. It is best to get it over with in one short, swift motion, not to let the wound fester and rot for centuries.

I find it interesting the article is in an Arab newspaper.

Also, is this guy, a Jew for Jesus? To even mention Christ in the article slamming Zionists, just goes to show the guy is all over the map, on his beliefs, and or, he wants sympathy from all religions for his statements.

He is speaking his mind, based on his own personal experiences, which is a good thing, but, I just can't side with this guy. Too, Jazzy for me!

Don't try to change the subject. Every country, including my own [Canada] commits immeasurable cruelties against its own subjects and foreign subjects. They will and should get their comeuppance in time. Right now it is Israel's turn.

"there is no biological, racial or ethnic continuum between the ancient Israelites and the contemporary Israelis."

I think he touches upon a very important fact here, one that the world can no longer ignore. Modern Israelis are, in majority, not related to the ancient Israelites. The DNA evidence and historical books prove that Ashkenazim are related to the ancient Khazars who converted to Talmudic dogma practiced by the Pharisees. This requires an overhaul of Zionism and the unwaivering support that it is given. Christians must understand that by supporting these people who call themselves Jews, they are going against the true Hebrews, whomever they are, wherever they are, and if they exist. They are working against their savior and their alleged God, and I'm sure they won't be going to heaven for it.

Oh no that is the subject. Israels turn for what? Well good then. Bring it on and let Israel be the hand of judgment against Turkey who has never got its comeuppance for the Armenian Genocide.

He could well be what is known as a Messianic Jew which would allow him belief in Christ as well as in the other teachings of the faith. Religions all have offshoots and sects, its worth researching these before commenting on his personal beliefs.

Sorry? Why should I have to research it, when he has made a public statement, to try and sway Christians, because that is what he was doing.

weigh my opinion on this one......

I am also a Christian (Christian Mystic to be precise) and from my decades of scripture study ...it even says in the Bible itself that the Jews are a stubborn nation.

I also believe that the same egotistical and corrupt dynamics that led to the crucifixion of Christ is what is in place as we speak.

This whole "chosen people/better than thou" attitude has to go. No one is better than anyone else and we are all equals.

Basically Christ came to show a whole new way to live compared to the old Judaism ways of killing innocent animals in place for their sins and trying to keep about a thousand laws that are almost impossible to go by.

The who egotism and attitude over there needs to be destroyed, and if they all need humility and humbleness by way of defeats in wars then so be it.

What we need is Jews that are compassionate, peaceful, and willing to live together with everyone else.

What does this have to do with what Gilad Atzmon had to say?

More and more people are speaking out about the misdeeds of Israel. It is something that has been a long time coming IMO.

Well for one thing its worth doing to expand your knowlege base. I would have though you would be all about expanding the old knowlege base, since an unwillingness to do so shows an inherant lack of understanding , or for that matter a lack of care about the denial of ignorance which is supposedly personified by the membership of this site.
Furthermore it would allow you to make informed comment on peoples motives in saying what they say, and doing what they do. Theres more to life than simple mudslinging.

No that is insane. We can't confront Israel as "The world" that would only feed into their insane rhetoric. You must understand and read their literature.

Also examine that of the Christians and Muslims. The "world" confronting Israel is something that needs to be avoided at all costs. They will literally kill us all if that ever comes to pass.

If Israel is to be chastised for it's behaviour it must come from it's allies. Not it's enemies. And it must be done in a constructive and open manner.

There are religious extremists in positions of power in many parts of the world. And they reverently and piously believe in their sacred texts and Gods, without knowing the danger such beliefs represent.

Many would see a turn in opinion sharply against Israel as a sign.

I am interested in researching, many things. Just because this guy made a statement, that tries to sway Christians, doesn't mean I won't. I can guarentee you that not all Christians have studied what he had to say, and would feel the same way I do. I just read the article to my neighbor, and she did feel the same way. She's southern Baptist.

He's using Jesus as an excuse, by what he said, to rile people up. Christian people.

To deny he knows exactly what he was doing when he said that, is insulting to all Christians, who haven't studied his "sect." So, your suggesting all Christians need to study his beliefs, to make a comment? That's wrong! By the way, Jews didn't kill Jesus. The Romans did.

More precisely it was a little of both. Someone had to die that day , and the people chose Jesus to die, rather than having Barabus, a murderer crucified instead. The Romans may have pinned him to a cross, but he never would have been there if the people (the Jews i.e. ) hadnt called out his name and begged for his death. If you had the slightest understanding of the teachings of the bible, you would realise this.
