Surveillance Cameras Installed at the Georgia Guidestones

www.wearechange.org

When I stopped by the Georgia Guidestones on Monday June 7th 2010 I noticed signs and surveillance cameras had been installed at the Georgia Guidestones. This is probably due to numerous acts of vandalism on the Guidestones. Americans don’t like the fact there’s a big stone monument on American soil that promotes eugenics, one world religion and language, and an overall reduction of humanity down to 500,000,000.

So I saw this and thought it was hilarious. Yah know, because of course we need cameras to protect some esoteric guidelines that contradict everything freedom stands for, that makes perfect sense :LOL. This is a perfect metaphor for the road we are heading down. Cameras to protect the criminals, and to control the people from speaking out. I know some people will just say it's so they don't get vandalized (and I'm all for protecting ones' property), but this isn't someone's house, and i don't think it's considered private property(i could be wrong on that idk). But anyway, just look at what these things say, then ask yourself, "Who in their right mind would want to protect something like that?" It's calling for population to be reduced to 500mill. That's a disgusting thought and this "monument" should be destroyed. I'm extremely surprised how many people don't even know what the Georgia Guidestones are, and hopefully some people on here who don't know will see this and learn something new. Just thought I'd share. Take care everyone.

The Guidestones are really the only thing that put Elberton on the map, and they do bring in some tourism, so it makes sense that they would want to keep them from being destroyed or vandalized.

Who put up and paid for the cctv cameras?

That should give you some indication of who is really behind things there...

excellent point. the signs says the sheriff's office, but whoever is above them that told them to do so is what i wana know. i doubt they took it upon themselves to just go install these cameras. following the money will always get you to the source.

Ok so now whoever built this site has installed an electronic surveillance system. This means someone now has a better chance of finding out who it was that built it i.e. there's now a digital fingerprint and that includes a pile of red tape with names and addresses. The cameras are either installed and maintained by a first person party, or a 3rd person party. Either way one could trace who is watching and find out who the site belongs to.

It is quite a monument. I can understand why they want to make sure its not vandalized. I do see where it would bring in tourist.
To answer if it is a good thing, overall as an artistic monument, yes. The writings do have some wisdom in them, although I hope no one would advocate draconian population control.

if that's art then Hitler is the Mona Lisa

Actually Hitler did produce some successful works of art, although be it nothing as grand as the granite monoliths.

During Adolf Hitler's childhood, academics were not his strong point. In grade school, Hitler's grades in Mathematics, Science, History, German, and French were adequate at best and this greatly displeased his father, Alois Schickelgruber. However, in the early 1900s Adolf Hitler showed an interest in art and began to excel very quickly. Hitler's average grades were good enough to get him accepted in a university preparatory "gymnasium" or the technical/scientific, Realschule. He chose Realschule because they offered a course in drawing. In 1906, Adolf was permitted to visit Vienna, but he was unable to gain admission to their prestigious art school. Nonetheless, this did not stop him from creating more works of art. Hitler went on to produce many drawings throughout his life. An auction was held on April 23, 2009 for works that Hitler had painted. It was estimated that his paintings would raise $50,000 but to many people's surprise, his paintings generated over $120,000.

Well, I can tell you the video they put in is IP (Internet Protocol) video (wireless transmission).

Also I can tell you, those cams aren't from ADT.

We need someone who can pinpoint who puts that type of cam in. If that was known, someone could call the company who installed them, say they need a service call and easily find out who is ultimately responsible for paying the bill on them.

If it turns out to be the sherrif and the buck stops there, then the guidestones and the story behind them are BS and used by the local city council to drum up tourism! (It has been done before... ie, various lake monsters!)

Did I say they were a good thing? Or that their message was moral or correct? No. I said that they draw tourism and put Elberton on the map. I'm sure to businesses in Elberton who benefit from this tourism, they see that as a good thing. Quit trying to put words in my mouth.

yeah i know. i was only joking/making a metaphor. i was saying that if you can consider something calling for the reduction of population "art" then hilter was the mona lisa.

i feel that these stones are the same as if i put up a statue of a dictator in the middle of my town and just said it was an art piece, nobody would by that. every art piece is motivated by the artist's ideals, thoughts, and feelings. and to say that something to this magnitude is only art and has no truth behind it, then that would be a slap in the face to all artist everywhere. it's either it's art, and is rooted in what the artist wants to see in the future. or it's a manuscript of what the people who hired the artist want to see in the future. either way it seems to be a blueprint for the future. it's a disgusting monument and i don't know how anyone in the right mind could thinks it's okay to enshrine this into stone, let alone even think of such thing. when you enshrine something in stone, it's obviously important and is meant to last. i just cant think of a logical reason someone could give me to convince that this is only art and has nothing to do with whats happening in the world today. i feel the parallels are just too obvious, and who ever made this is is gloating at the fact that people wont even care, even when it's laid right out in front of them.

i wasnt trying to put words in ur mouth, thats why i said correct me if i'm wrong. i get what ur saying now, thank you for clarifying. if it is just a tourism stunt than i think it sure is a scary one and mission accomplished. thats like yelling fire in a movie theater to boom ur business for fire extinguishers. sure is a risky business model.

If Turner makes money off of media ratings, eliminating the audience to 500,000,000 worldwide wouldn't make a whole lot of sense now.

Would it?

I think it's ironic that the same people claiming to love freedom and all the rest of the rights they enjoy living in America, would deface a privately owned monument with spray painted penises and obscenities. Yeah, they sure showed that guy something about freedom

ratings would be obsolete if the entire population becomes a captive audience. the economy would probably be more regulated than an all fiber diet. turner has all his ducks in a row. people with that much money don't worry about money anymore, only how much power it can accrue.

just sayin'.

great thread. thanks for posting.
