That's way too simplistic. (And how do you get rid of races?)
People will polarise into opposing groups any chance they get. Racism is spurred on and encouraged by referring to people as "black" and "white"
when neither pigmentation colour exists. How better to divide people than by placing them at the opposite ends of the greyscale! If you call yourself
black or white then you are a racist. If you make
any kind of issue about your own or another's skin colour or ethnic origins then you are a
racist.
It's human instinct to want to clash with opposing forces. Just look at the fall outs between Skeptics and Believers here on ATS.
Differences aren't always tolerated, but hey, that's people for you.
