According to the Article the Student Pilot and Passenger were only injured and apparently no deaths were reported. Glad everyone is okay, I think...

Authorities said two people were transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center, but it wasn't immediately clear how badly they were hurt or if others were injured when the two-seater Beechcraft went down on Ocean Avenue in Bohemia.

Dear UberL33t

Well you had my heart going there for a minute.

I thought from the head line oh S**t not another 9/11.

Light aircraft crash all the time, just no big deal really, as certainly most go unreported.

Mine too when I read the headline, then when I saw the article I was like "Oh it's just a Commuter Aircraft, into a Plumbing Supply Building and no one died at this point" whew!

You have to love the authors of these headlines...shock value sells without question. Even if it is just hits to a website. That is highly prevalent on ATS as well, I do the same thing admittedly, as do a lot of good thread authors.

Maybe the people in the plane had a plumbing bill they would never be able to pay?

I'm surprised this sort of thing doesn't happen more often.

There was a puddle jumper airport near where I lived when I grew up, and it wasn't uncommon to see a crash everynow and then. One a couple of streets over one time.

I lived a few miles away from the Sky Harbor location.

I'm sure there are lots of airfields like this around, that have not to bright pilots out for tours, etc...

It sucks when this sort of thing happens.... I know because I survived a small airplane crash that totaled the airplane, but everyone walked away from it... The thing is you never know what can go wrong even when the plane has been checked out and such...
I hope they pull through and recover from this...

Dear UberL33t

While training to be a pilot the very first thing you are taught is how to check the fuel and work out how much you will need for your flight.

So you can bank on this not being the reason for the crash.

No the ones who run out of fuel are trained pilots who are careless.
