WASHINGTON, June 4 (Reuters) - BP (BP.L) Plc's role as the top supplier of jet fuel to the U.S. military may delay U.S. environmental regulators from barring the company's lucrative government contracts even if BP is eventually found to have broken laws in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill disaster.

As a result of the spill, the Environmental Protection Agency will consider its options in limiting future BP government contracts, worth billions of dollars, in a process known as debarment.

I see this, and I'm immediately reminded of the movie, "Toxic Skies".

Government gives contract to company to supply fuel, and fuel additive, and the company mixes in deadly toxin. Govt pretends they don't know about it, but are actually in on it all along.

If BP and the US are this far into bed with each other, is it too far of a stretch that the two are in on a giant, "take out the constitution", "rid the US of a bunch of useless eaters" type of plan?

Boycott BP.

Well, I'm kinda surprised I didn't get any response on this thread.

Why is the US government buying jet fuel from a foreign (British Petroleum), when we have plenty of US companies to supply the fuel?

Even if BP has US based offices, and oil production, the money all goes to the home office first, which is in London.

The Queen probably has an underground passage to their board room.

Well quite frankly most people don't believe in chemtrails because they make no sense. They have been debunked as we say many times

Because, with due respect, you're talking #. Firstly, BP hasn't been called 'British Petroleum' for quite a while and there's a fairly good reason. Twelve years ago, it merged with an American company, Amoco. It was a merge, not an acquisition. Whether Americans like it or not, BP isn't a British company - in fact, it's been multinational for a long time - and is now as American as it is British. The only problem is that none of this sits well when it comes to dishing out the blame. Hence the reason why Transocean appears to be doing very well at avoiding flak from Americans.

Give me a break!

London is where BP’s corporate headquarters are located, and the UK is therefore a centre for trading, legal, finance and other mainstream business functions. The UK is also home to three of BP’s major global research and technology groups.

I just have done. Breaks over:

How British is BP?

As of December 2009, 40 per cent of shares were owned in Britain compared to 39 per cent in the US. In the boardroom the situation is the same: six British directors and six Americans. And while the CEO may be British, the chairman, Carl-Henric Svanberg, is a Swede.

n 2000 the company ditched the title “British Petroleum” having merged with one oil American company, Amoco, in 1998 and acquired a second, ARCO, two years later.

Outside of the company’s highest tiers the balance tilts decisively towards the US. BP employs 22,000 Americans against only 10,000 British. The operations it runs in Alaska, the mainland United States, and, until recently, the Gulf of Mexico, dwarf the North Sea side of the business.

Kinda like saying McDonalds isn't an American company because it operates all over the world, has foreign investors, and has non-Americans on the board.

Trust me, all money goes through corporate headquarters.

I'm no Tory and I despise Murdoch but I'd still rather trust sources like the Times. Ultimately, whether it suits your xenophobic sensibilities or not, as of 6 months ago 39% of all BP shares were American (only 1% less than British shares) and half the board of directors are American. BP also employs twice as many Americans as it does British workers. The bulk of BPs operations are American-based.

Only an idiot would think that BP was a 'British' firm.
