Dumesic and Randy Cortright, another UW-Madison chemical engineer, have discovered a way to turn sugar into hydrogen, right in the engine of a car. Creating hydrogen on the go means that fuel tanks don't have to store compressed hydrogen, which could be an explosion risk.

Oil companies will promptly buy the rights and hide this technology forever, what do you think?

wel this just mean there is more than one way to make hydrogen. you can do it with water.

hydrogen can be produced fairly easy and in fact one....i forgot their name has a half gas half hydrogen station in iceland. and they make the hydrogen on site! no big bulky tankers to drive around.

thats a plus for using hydrogen. but no i dont think they'll hide this, one is starting to get into it actually. lets try not to be so negative about this.
