In Canada there are some mysterious stones lying around.
They appear to be ancient and have petroglyphs in places.
Any suggestions??

Very interesting. I'd love to see them first-hand.
But they are nowhere as bizzare as the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland

Giant's Causway reminds me of Devil's Postpile
They are natural formations called columnar basalt formations, not manmade.
Sorry for the double post.

What neat places to go.

The canada rock formation looks a bit like the limestone pavement at Malham Cove in the Yorkshire

Nyarlathotep's right... those are natural formations.
The petroglyphs, however, that's another matter. I can say that they are apparently old (hard to say from a photo, but there's lichen growing on
some sections), and that they are NOT Runes, Cuneiform, Ogham or any writing system I'm familiar with.
Interesting!

I think all the weird stuff from ancient times. Pyramids, weird rock formations, stone hendge(sp), spynx, large carved cities, and statues etc... were
made simply because people were bored to tears and had nothing else to do with their lives.
I mean all they had were they skies and each other to look at for entertainment.
If they had computers/tv back then we would not have any of that old stuff to look at now. Imagine what you could accomplish if TV/Movies/Computers
did not exist?

What's interesting too is the balancing rocks, I've seen them on the internet and they can be found all over the internet! I think that they are
some of the neatest mysteries ever. How long have they been there? how do they stay balanced through high winds and earthquakes, and such?
Here are some links!
