lawmakers are using the purse strings to coax more states into adopting rules that require suspects who are arrested for various crimes — but not charged — to submit to DNA sampling for inclusion into a nationwide database.

All Democrats voting approved the bill, CNET’s Declan McCullagh points out. And it’s likely to sail through the Senate. President Barack Obama, who supports DNA collection upon arrest, is expected to sign it.

Whoaaaaaaaa.... Are we living in Germany with Nazi's controlling things?
Thats one stupid law that shouldnt pass at all. A LOT of people will have their DNA taken over a little traffic ticket and other non-violent false arrest junk...

I'm a bit glad this law wasnt applied a few years back... they all want to violate our rights....... Good luck with that, at least with me...

California authorities are allowed to conduct so-called “familial searching.” When a genetic sample does not directly match another, authorities start investigating people with closely matched DNA in hopes of finding leads to the perpetrator.

Or, they are just making it easier to track down Murderers, Rapists, Felons, and others who commit "various sex crimes".

Wow I though this thread would have taken off by now here on ATS. It would seem that there are plenty of Freedom minded people on here.


All newborns born in Hospitials here in the uS have Blood samples taken. To the best of my knowlege that blood is entered into a database and can be brought up at will.

Also since people born after the mid '70's are in that database, They need a way to get the rest of us in as well.

That DNA can not only be used for identifaction but can be used to make a DNA taylored Bio Weapon.

How much more are we as a people going to put up with before enough is enough?
