Judges Rule Against Detainees at Afghan Base

Detainees at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan cannot use U.S. courts to challenge their imprisonment the way detainees in Guantanamo Bay have, a federal appeals court ruled Friday in a victory for the Obama administration.

Three appeals court judges said in a unanimous decision that the fact that Afghanistan is a war zone and that the United States in effect has sovereignty over Guantanamo Bay swing the balance against the detainees.

I don't think I will take sides on this just yet. To me it does show that the detainees at the base do have access to counsel. If I were in the know I would say each case should be looked at on an individual basis. Over all I doubt this will be the last we hear of it. Any other thoughts on the matter please post them.

What they can not plead the Fifth? How perposterous is that? I though Obama made sure Terrorists gets right no matter what country they are from and the citizens who are terrorists get their rights & citizenship revoked.

I am sure this judge is going to be in some hot water, or sent to practice law in Arctic Pole once the Depart of Jihad gets done with him.
