Well, sex and sexuality have been stigmatized for ages. I remember one quote from the Hindu scriptures where it talks of a saint speaking of people "enjoying themselves like elephants", and simply rubbing their urinary parts together. Putting it like that doesn't make it sound so hot.
Yet, the gods enjoyed sex, and even the Bible is very sexual.
It is the religious injunctions aginst condoms that are really shocking.
Since condoms weren't even invented when scriptures were written, how can people say this???

In any case, since HIV seemingly stems from bush-meat, then religion needs to re-inforce dietery and environmental laws!!!

This HIV stems from bush-meat. dont be a moron. We still have a HIV epidemic thats transmited through sexual intercourse.

Its not about sex being stigmitized. you are blind good sir.

Its about men dipping there wick in anything that moves. and women who spread there legs for 4 people a month. people who have had more then 10 sexual partners in there life. those that go to sex partys. Those that cheat on there partners.

If you dont find that repulsive.....well.....your probably part of the problem.

What the... Mr Warhammer Fan... I'm 30 and I've had more than 10 sexual partner, actually way more... but... endulge me, those 10 sexual partners you speak of... did you just make up a number that seemed right or was that just a stupid idea that seemed right at the time you typed it? Why not 11... or 9?... 11 is over the top already?

And what am I? Part of the problem? Look... I dont like porn, I dont watch it, I dont get off with some pics on the internet, I refuse to pay for sex so... hey one has to get a life right?
We aim to please

Funny remark... the average american MAN has 7 (yes lol seven... so sad) sexual partners in his ENTIRE LIFE... the average american WOMAN has sex with 15 or more (the AVERAGE lol) - I mean... I have to quote Joker from The Dark Knight with a twist:

"Let's wind the clocks back a couple of a hundred years. These girls and women wouldn't dare have more fun than any of you. I mean, what happened? Did, did your balls drop off? Hm?"

Are women really have that many partners....its worse then i thought.

It seems women are really part of the problem then. I knew this would happen when feminism became like it is.

Yes, how DARE we women ask for a bit of the same sexual freedom men have. Oh, that's right, I forgot. When men do it, they're "players" and "men's men", and when women do it, we're "whores" and "sluts". I might as well toss out my lab coat and start learning to bake. I mean, clearly I'm part of the "problem" if I'm not devoted to one man and popping out babies, hm?

Gosh, I love double standards.

Here in South Africa HIV/AIDS is largely a heterosexual epidemic, and women are more likely to be infected (they are 60% more affected than men). This has nothing to do with Africans or women being more lustful or promiscuous. The fact is that sex has to do with migration, economic and social power.
Apartheid forced black men to leave their rural homelands and to work on the mines, and often they only saw their wives in the reserves for a few weeks a year until retirement. The result was that men often had alternative wives and families around the urban mine compounds. Women often had no money or economic power and were forced into forms of transactional sex. The same is also true of the truck-drivers, and HIV from central Africa is sometimes traced along such routes.
Although prostitution does occur, "transactional sex" is not the same, in that the male keeps the woman as a long-term partner and they share and care for children in extended families.

In fact, South Africans have the same average amounts of partners as Western men or women in one lifetime. However, Westerners tend to practise serial monogamy (each sexual relationship lasting a few years), while African men may have contact with concurrent partners over a very short period and a wide distance. The mine work is very dangerous and makes people fatalistic - a further cause for apathy towards HIV (although this is changing). As economic dependants, female partners have little power to negotiate safe sex, and there are obvious biological reasons why they are more prone to infection after exposure than men.

PS. If the bush meat explanation for the gradual spread of AIDS from apes and monkeys to humans is moronic, then I'm in good company since it's a widely accepted theory. It's not the meat itself but its processing, that leads to blood-mixing through eg. machete wounds. Few however deny that mass innoculation campaigns with unclean needles initially helped to spread the virus.
