What if democracy was king?

What would the world be like if every country was a perfect democracy?

What would it be like if every country and politician/ruler accepted the opinions of the majority of their citizens?

Personally I think every human is capable of reason and on average the world would be a much better, healthier place if the average persons' views were accepted and acted upon.

Obviously they need to be given the right and true information to begin with but it's a good "what if" question.

Sure, you can't please all of the people all of the time but the majority usually will get it right.

Instead we have a few, and I mean a few, people that think they know better and are ruling for their own benifit and that of their fellow cohorts.

Fact is it could happen if enough cared and pushed.....

Then every nation would be an oligarchy or a dictatorship, because democracy fails. Only republics become great nations.

Pure democracy invaribly disintegrates into mob rule. In other words, pure democracy is destined to fail.
On the other hand, a democratic Republic, such as the Unitede States. can survive and prosper, if the Constitution is followed, Federal goverment is limited and small, and States Rights are protected.
Arizona is an excellent example of the excercise of States Rights and State Soveregnty. The Federal government would not step up to the plate and provide for the common defense of our borders, so the Stated simply passed a law that allows them to take custody of illegal aliens and turn them over to federal authorites for deportation.
The Federal government and the involved governmental agencies are just pissed because they have been exposed as incompetent.
