AP source: US Navy has encounter with Iranian jet

WASHINGTON – A U.S. military official says the Navy had a close encounter with an Iranian surveillance jet last week in the Gulf of Oman.

The official says the jet buzzed a Navy aircraft carrier, the USS Eisenhower, coming within about 1,000 yards of the ship. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter, said the April 21 incident occurred in international waters.

The jet was described as a maritime patrol aircraft generally used for surveillance.

Hmmm...I'm surprise Obama didn't give the Navy to order any possible hostile plane to shoot down, especially when it would be the perfect time to invade Iran or an excuse to bomb Iran to get rid of the nuclear facilities that could grant Iran the nuclear weapon. Perhaps they are waiting for the perfect opportunity when a recon plane is armed with weapons that they can finally shoot it down and then show it to the world. Don't want another Gulf of Tonkin incident eh?
