I am starting this thread because the original thread (whose title only focuses on the effects for Norway) does not represent the true extent of disruption caused by the ash from the Icelandic volcano.

I also am starting this thread as it would be good to monitor european ATS members' input regarding this volcanic ash (e.g. whether they can see the ash cloud, impact on flights for their countries etc.)

The reality is this is effecting all of Europe.

Im in the North west of England...

You can't see the ash cloud....

There are no planes in the sky....

There are also no starlings which is wierd for this time of year.

Huh. I live in Umeå, northern Sweden, and apparently this town is affected by the ash. The real problem is that volcanic eruptions can last for years, which could affect this area drastically.

Not sure about the choice of forum section though.

Hi Drexon,

thanks for your input. Please could you post it at my new thread (as you rightly pointed out, not the best forum section LOL). This one is more relevant, the breaking news forum:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Thanks again for your response. I'll respond on the 'correct' thread :-)

Sounds scary what your area is experiencing.

Hi Ian,

thanks for your report. As you probably noticed, I started this thread in the wrong forum. Please could you send your post to this correct thread.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Apologies for the hastle, but I didn't realise I posted it in aliens and ufos forum LOL! I suppose breaking news section is a tad more relevant ;-)

I have heard from a few others in north UK and scotland that they can't see the ash cloud. Would be interesting to hear any experts take on that. Evidently when it's high up in atmosphere it can't be seen, but can't be certain about that yet. Just what I've heard so far.

See you on other thread and thanks again for your response.
