Your free healthcare is not free. Just becasue you do not pay anything while you are receiving the heathcare, does not mean you have not already paid for it.

Norway's corporate tax rate is 28% (and while the corporation does give this amount to the government, rest assured they pass these costs onto the consumer).
Norway's individual tax rate is 0-47.8%
Norway's payroll tax is 14%
Norway's VAT,GST and sales taxes are 25%, 14% (food and drink in shops) and 8% (transportation).

Now let us look at the taxes paid by the citiznes of the United States.
United States' corporate tax rate is 15-39% (federal) and 0-12% (state).
United States' individual tax rate is 0-35% (federal) and 0-10.3% (state).
United States' payroll tax is 15.3%, 2.9% regressive (federal)
United States' sales tax is 0-10.25% (state and local)

Here is the biggest difference between Norway and the United States.

Norway's population : 4.8 million
Untied States' population : 300 million

The United States' unemployment rate is currently 6 times the total population of Norway.

I congratulate Norway on being able to provide healthcare to its citizens. But we are not exactly comparing apples to apples here.
