Playboy appears on children's TV

www.digitalspy.co.uk

The Playboy channel has accidentally been aired on children's TV for two hours.

A "technical glitch" led to Time Warner Cable (TWC) broadcasting adult clips on the Kids On Demand and Kids Preschool On Demand channels in North Carolina earlier this week.

Ok I found this interesting for a couple of reasons. Here's an extract from a source below:

The equipment failure, which took place between 6.15am and 8.15am on Tuesday, beamed previews of adult shows with scantily clad women striking suggestive poses...

Just imagine if this 'glitch' occurred when an actual porno program was airing in its entirety? I not only found it weird that this was aired for 2 whole hours but the fact that the channel operators only found out once they received phone calls from worried parents.

Damn glitches.

I may be alone in thinking this but I would think that many kids shows are creepier and more unnatural than some suggestive sexual programming. After all we are primates. I think there is a massive double-standard here in the US of letting violence run rampant on our TV screens while covering our kids ears/eyes every time a bad word or sexually suggestive scene is on. I mean sure we want to keep them protected for a while when they're really young but shouldn't that include violence?

Plus some of those kids shows are more than a little unsettling with inanimate objects running around and all sorts of puppets running around not to mention what the shows do to their attention spans.

I imagine everyone will get bent out of shape about this anyway though.

Not much different than that Xuxa kid's show (latin television)....

Just as fun for male adults to watch THAT show, the way she dressed!

I am a bit surprised it took 2 hours for someone to complain. I guess more adult men watch kids shows than previously believed.

I admit when I worked the graveyard shift I would watch children's TV shows in the morning when I couldn't get to sleep.

I might of thought that the shows have really gotten wild if I saw that.
