"Many Americans no longer believe they can move up the economic ladder.." According to the ABC News Poll 94% of Americans do not believe they will move up the ladder. I think that America is waking up and starting to realize we have been tossed into a blender of chaotic uncertainty that has no real end in sight. The reporter says "Wall Street continuing to profit, while Main Street continues to struggle".

What is happening is not going unseen and is starting to effect people all around us. Your neighbor may be the next to lose their home and be eating at a soup kitchen.

Watch this video interviewing the parents of a family of 4. This is what Americans get for playing by the rules and paying their taxes.

That might have to do with the fact that America's economic ladder is quickly disappearing and being replaced by a flat Chinese conveyor belt.

The saddest part is that there are families like this all over the Nation that are in the process of losing their lives as they know them. Both parents working, paying their taxes, helping their community and now on the verge of losing their home. Their is no justice in the system we have in place. The only people benefiting from the way the U.S. is being ran is the pinnacle of power at the top.

This is what happens when government involves itself in the markets.

It happened during the great depression, it happened during the 70's, and its happening again today for the very same reason.

The massive expansion of credit caused by the Federal Reserve is now contracting.

The private sector is starved for cash under an enormous burden of debt.

Ultimately the government will print cash to pay off the debt, destroying the dollar in the process and wiping out what remains of the middle class.

This is what history tells us will happen, and its the governments fault entirely.

Well said. That is pretty much exactly how all the documentaries out there are describing this. The past seems to always repeat itself yeah? Just sad to see this happening during our lives to the extent that it is.

You and me both buddy.

You and me both.

The government could end this tomorrow by jacking rates up and declaring a default, then writing down the debt. Of course, the Fed has to be eliminated to prevent this from happening again. But at least they could correct it.

They aren't going to do that though. They will continue on the path of destruction until this country is a smoking hulk of ruin and despair.

What I think is the most unjust part of this all is who is getting screwed. The poor are leeching from the government, then we have people claiming they have disabilities that really don't leeching off the government, then we got people that don't want to work bc unemployment pays too much leeching off the government, then we have people having more children so they can leech harder off the government, then we have people that work and pay taxes that are getting owned by the government and all the leechers are contributing to the middle classes demise as well, and worst off at the top above the wealthy we have those making decisions that could care less about any of the issues I mentioned above.

The government needs a serious overhaul to bring the country back into the working citizens hands.

Yeah, that time is approaching rapidly.

The government will either turn into a totalitarian police state or the good people that are left will take it back and kick out the tyrants in DC.

My guess is we become a totalitarian Soviet style police state with price controls, rationing, and handouts.

The kids these days are all socialists and haven't been taught any proper history.

Funny you say that because I started a thread called 20 Signs The U.S. Is Becoming a Police State - Martial Law Incoming? just the other day.

I completely agree with you and I wish more people would see what is coming before it is too late to change anything.

Yeah there's a few of us around that know what's going on, but unfortunately not that many.

If the polls are to believed, about 15% of the nation understands what caused the mess and who is truly to blame.

Yeah I think that disinformation is to blame for that. There is an overload of info going around at the moment and it's making it impossible for people to make their own decisions on what has happened and is coming. I mean even sites like this end up distorting reality and make it even more difficult to see the truth. Then you have the big MSM players constantly reporting what they are told. The whole system is in ruin as far as I am concerned and I have no clue what can be done to make it better. All we can do is try and inform...

That's just it the middle class are disappearing and the funny thing is that everybody else is hanging on their backs so when they disapear, so does the country. The poor depend on the middle class because they pay the most out for social services, the rich depend on the middle class because the middle class are the ones who actually produce things for the rich to leach off of. Once the middle class are squashed out of existence they will take the poor and the rich with them. It's hard for the poor to mooch off people that are now poor themselves and just like the rich, the poor make or do nothing, they just depoend on social programs so when there are no jobs left and no middle class producing the rich can no longer be the parasite that siphons off money and does nothing because there isn't anyone left producing anything! Then the country comes crashing down as outside influences take over just like the Roman Empire.

That's why I'm here and that's why you're here.

The truth will be made known.

We can only hope that after the currency is destroyed the people are not so stupid as to think a world bank and world government will be the solution.

It is every patriots duty to educate the publik school indoctrinated masses.

Well I have to go to work my second job in about an hour so I am gone for now. I hope that more people get a chance to read this thread though and poke around for themselves. There are some great interviews on the Rachel Maddow show that are new where she interviews the United States Secretary of the Treasury, Timothy Geithner. He tries to explain how things are looking up for our economy but that we are in a long term reform process that could take 20 years to partially fix. Now even though I don't totally believe what I am hearing it is nice to see someone (Rachel) trying to ask questions that I think most are afraid to. It's worth a watch if you have not seen it.

Total rubbish. The govt. is pretty involved in Norway. Indeed, they retain control of the country's oil resources (Statoil), and they are doing just great.

Free market capitalism leads to cartels. Like what we have.

What we need is Socialist intervention to regulate corporatism. That and nationalization of all national resources. I imagine your heart rate went up with the mention of "Socialism." Lol. Doubtless you think Socialists are Nazi party members or Stalinists.

Actually what you just said is rubbish.

The federal reserve is a private banking cartel with 12 district banks that all commercial banks must be a member of.

The shareholders of the Fed stock are secret.

The oil industry is also regulated by government into a cartel. It is next to impossible to acquire drilling and production rights for private land owners. Only the major producers are allowed to extract oil. The rest is tied up in the reserve system.

The vaccine industry is also a cartel, protected by a private special court system and funded by the government.

Indeed all the major cartels that exist today exist solely because of government intervention in the markets.

Patent laws are another form of government intervention that allows monopoly and cartels to form. In a free market, producers would be free to copy each others ideas - which of course creates competition and drives down prices.

Patent laws don't apply to little people though. Major corporations will steal ideas from the little people and bulldoze them in court. They also don't apply to foreign manufacturers who simply ignore them - further hindering domestic production.

At any rate, cartels only form because of government.

Free market competition absolutely prevents cartels from forming.

You know as much as people want to bash them..........the Scandinavian countries do have some of the best quality of living in the world. But it's also because they have more honest politicians and in general a more honest society overall.

American government has a death griip on its citizens. They look out for the corporations before the people and well being of everyone. That isn't capitalism that is state corporatism bordering on fascism. America needs to wake up! Our government is killing us slowly!

I still do not understand why they could not have given the money to the pay off the mortgages. The banks would have still got the money. If it had to be paid back, why not offer it to everyone at 0% interest? The banks would have still got the money.

That was a nice video - it is nice to see someone in the media that actually cares.
