Um, the fact that there is such a HUGE truth movement should tell you two things: 1) They didn't pull it off, and 2) he (Chomsky) is
therefor right, only furthering the argument that it WAS an inside job.
It's a snowball.
No, actually, it tells me that this is really the first time that these goofball conspiracies had such a large playground to romp and play in. With
the moon landing, everything was open and above board so the "moon landing was a hoax" people are having a hard time gettign anywhere, while the JFK
assassination has some pretty strange things in it but it's still plausible that an irate former marine corps sharpshooter can pick off a guy out in
the open with a battle rifle. The 9/11 attack OTOH has a lot of pretty strange things in it, from planes being used in suicide attacks to weird
terrorist cults to fires bringing down buildings to the gov't keeping its info on Bin Laden hush hush. Not to mention, it was probably the most
monumental event that shaken the US since the Challanger explosion.
That's not to say there's necessarily anything genuinely suspicious about it, but to a lot of people with abject paranoia, a lack of information
necessarily means something sinister has to be going on. Add on the fact that there are hordes of outright con artists and snake oil peddlers (I.E.
Dylan Avery) pushing out paranoid drivel to milk the conspiracy people for a quick buck, how can a 9/11 conspiracy movement NOT come out of the
woodwork to fill in the vaccuum?
