Okays.

That bear should have a sound clip with it that would blow the hat off ones head.
Thats one face I'd not enjoy meeting.

Or you could come face to face with one of these beasts.

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/3876b426aba3.jpg[/atsimg]

I was at Ft.Richardson outside Anchorage one winter weekend.

I came down into the barracks lobby to walk to the PX and everybody was standing by the door.

I started to walk out the door and one soldier said,"There is a moose out there".

I thought he meant in the yard out front so I wanted a look see.

I opened the door and stuck my head out and was face to nose with a bull moose.

His breath fogged my glasses up.I jerked my head back inside, white as a sheet.

The trooper said,"I told you there was a moose outside".

You can keep Alaska.

Good luck with that.

[shiver]
I have a dog and a cat who'd probably be very interested in it too.

DON'T PANIC !!!, and no need to move to bear country.:shk:

Help is a available for pesky scorpions. And several species regularly eat them as a part of their diet.

As long as you don't have any other pets, small children, and you or any other residents in the house are not made of meat, get one of these...............

The Honey Badger eats scorpions like they're popcorn.

Why didn't you just used a dust pan or something and released it out in woods or something instead of bloody killing it ?

As far as I know kinglizard is a human....

Our species kills anything that is a threat to our survival, and if we can, we eat it.

Put it outside.

Wish I didn't feel so threatened. I love animals...with all of me heart...

Scorpions give me the heebie jeebies. I was stung by one as a little girl and it had a seizure-life effect on me. It was horrible and I'll never forget it.

I'm the type to definitely scoop up things and put them outside (even annoying things like mosquitos will get shooed gently outside). But I can't risk scorpions finding their way back in and harming my son.

So under the shoe they go. Wasps and other 'ouchie bities' have to go, too.

That picture made me die a little bit inside.

At least you'd see one of those coming... not like the evil little house spiders that seem dedicate their entire lives to sneaking up on people when they dont expect it, and then when you do see them they try and chase you. Shudder.

I only lived in Kodiak for a couple of years, but this thread is making me miss it... The bears weren't too bad, as long as you just let them be, and quietly made your exit... Only ever had two real nasty run-ins with them, but at least I'm still here...

I still get mad about the Kodiak/Polar Bear thing though (which one is the biggest bear in the world)... I've seen stuffed Kodiaks bigger than any Polar Bear... Some sources claim one or the other is the biggest, but there doesn't seem to be an accepted answer...

I'll take the bears over the scorpions!

You can hear the bears coming. You don't get surprised by a bear hiding in your shoe when you slip it on and you don't have to worry about bears crawling on your floor when you're walking around barefoot in the middle of the night, worrying you may step on one.

Scorpions are the worst!

You are exactly right Ash...I never need to check under the covers before bed to see is there is a grizzly waiting to pump me full of venom.

That's what Goldilocks thought.

The plot of Goldilocks originally involved a young girl happening upon a house of a mama, papa, and baby scorpion but the author thought that may be too terrifying to small children. So they went with the bears.

True story.

Like teddy bears. Have you ever seen a child cuddling up next to a stuffed scorpion at night during a storm?

Didn't THINK so!

Okay, I'm out, you two are way too witty for me.

I still hate scorpions.

Well actually ... that's what I was given to cuddle with.

Although they spray painted it red and told me it was a lobster.
