Ghana dig reveals ancient society

"Experts from the University of Ghana found 80 sculptures believed to be between 800 and 1,400 years old.

They believe the figures, depicting animal and human forms, are part of a burial ground or shrine.

Archaeologists say the societies that constructed the figures simply disappeared when Islam arrived".

So apparently, all the connections with this sophisticated society of the past has vanished.

I suppose it stands to reason that some people back then did not like the idea of converting or talking on board Islam and moved away.

There is lots of reasons why they might have moved but the lack of connections could just be down to the distance the people went to move away from there old homes.

No doubt someone is gonna think you are Islam bashing but the article does not read like its blamming Islam, just giving a possible reason for the people moving away.

Sadly though with all religions they tend to kill, convert or dispel people in any area that they move to so its a possibility that the religious types drove them out.
